Introduction
The prenatal development process takes place in three major stages. People define these stages as trimesters that is, the first, second and third trimesters. The first trimester includes the period of the three months after conception. There is a lot of interesting factors that encapsulate the period of the first stage. The pregnancy of a woman is not practical in the first weeks because the process of conception often occurs a fortnight after a woman’s last menstrual period. This trimester is when the development of body organs occurs such as brain cells and nerve cells. However, at this period is when majority of the spontaneous abortions take place mostly due to the abnormal fetus development. It is interesting to know that this is a form of nature’s manner of undertaking chromosomal abnormality elimination. Between the third and fifth week is when the embryo begins to develop other specific and delicate organs. It is interesting that the embryo comprises of three layers where different body organs will continue to develop.
The second trimester comprises of the period between the fourth and sixth months. Moreover, many refer to it as the golden trimester since the mother feels best generally. This is attributable to the fact the mother does not experience nausea or any other form of morning sickness, thus making her very comfortable. Here it is interesting that the baby does seem more real to the mother because the signs are showing the pregnancy more vividly. One may even develop larger breasts at this point and various skin changes also occur. As for the fetus, it has the ability of moving and even hearing due to its rapid development. This means that it is vital for one to pay regular visitations to their medical professional in order to get advice on the various aspects including healthy dieting and amount of rest needed.
As for the third and final segment or trimester it constitutes of the period between the seventh to the ninth months. It is important to highlight that his is the most essential trimester since the baby’s body systems and organs are almost very mature because they are preparing to function independently without the help of the mother. This time there is an amount of fat that accumulates in the baby, which assists it to begin its life independently. In this trimester, the baby receives the description of a fetus and it begins to resemble a human being and its features increase clarity. Furthermore, it is vital to note that at this time the signs and symptoms experienced by the mother are such as mounting anxiety, swollen ankles and painful backaches. Due to the rapid development of the fetus, it will tend to move more regularly and it is then able to open its eyes too. At this time it is almost deemed as a full grown fetus.
