On May 1 (5:33 am), a tragic explosion and fire occurred at Miracle Chemicals claiming the life of three of our employees and resulting in the injury of twenty-seven work employees and eight persons from the neighboring community. Miracle Chemicals expresses deepest condolences to the families and friends of the deceased, who were valuable members of our company. Miracle Chemicals expresses heartfelt sympathy to all persons who have been suffering because of the accident, including those injured in the accident, those suffering damages to homes and property, and residents from the neighboring community. Member of the Board at Miracle Chemicals extends sincerest apologies the authorities, our customers, and our shareholders.
The tragic accident has been under scrutiny by state government officials. A latest investigation report from officials suggests that the accident was mostly likely caused by the inappropriate storage of ammonium nitrate, an explosive inorganic salt, next to ignition sources in one of our warehouses. Before the accident occurred, around 500 kilograms of ammonium nitrate was stored in a warehouse and placed near electricity wires. Because the insulation covers of many electricity wires had been wore, electric sparks were likely generated from accidentally closed circuit and acted as the ignition source of the explosion.
Miracle Chemicals is always dedicated to comply with the highest safety standards in industry. An Emergency Committee was formed immediately after the accident and has been working with the Environment, Health & Safety Office of our company to reinforce safety regulations. From now on, the Environment, Health & Safety Office will conduct regular safety inspections to every department of the company. Each employee or personnel of Miracle Chemicals will be required to take safety training every year. More attention will be paid to potentially hazardous chemicals and materials. All explosive chemicals will be kept away from electric sources, and wires and plumbing will be protected with better insulation.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and the suffering caused to our neighboring community. We will dedicate our best efforts to amend the loss and the suffering and to deliver the safest manufacturing environment in the future.
