Agenda Setting is basically a phenomenon by which mass media highlights a particular news item to increase its nuisance value thereby making more people influenced by the issue under discussion. This is usually done by repeated communication of the issue in question so as to make people think that this issue is of more importance than other issues and needs to be pondered upon.
As a person, I had heard and followed the news of climate changes a lot. During various shows and documentaries I came to know that due to climate change massive environmental changes are being produced into our daily lives which adversely affect us. For instance, rise in temperature is causing a lot of floods due to melting of northern glaciers thereby causing imbalance in water cycle and loss of lives. As a person, I have started individual efforts not to waste natural resources. For instance, I wake up early in the morning to make maximum use of sunlight. I try not to use a lot of water while bathing. I prefer going to nearby market on my bicycle rather than my car. Thus I have been positively influenced by the mass media coverage of climate change and I am making positive efforts to use natural resources in the best possible way.
Secondly, the mass media campaign on traffic signal compliance influenced me a lot. The various CCTV footages of accident due to traffic violence have sensitized me about traffic signals and I always follow traffic signs religiously to avoid any unfortunate accident.
