Probability: Exemplar Critical Thinking To Follow

Probability and prediction plays a significant role of every person. Starting a new day, we take a look at our plans and expectations and estimate the probability of a few events which can happen in this or that part of the day.
As for me, I rely on probability practically every day. Almost any action can be delayed, hindered, or accomplished due to this or that circumstance. For example, when summer comes to our city and good weather visits us, more and more people strive to spend their free time in the open air as far from the city as possible. It triggers off a certain panic and pandemonium on the roads and in supermarkets. It is especially acute on Fridays, before weekends – people flee from work and study as early as they can and run shopping as if it were the last day of shops’ work. In this season and on such weeks I prepare myself for the trip beforehand. We go shopping some days before and buy the most necessary things when there are not very many people in supermarkets. The last things, like perishable products, are bought in small shops already on the way, so we avoid long queues and nervous expectation, and our trip begins much better. Moreover, we can predict long traffic jams in the city and take measures so that we don’t go to the centre of the city on Friday and minimize our total presence in the city at all. If possible, I plan my agenda and try to finish my work a bit earlier – each 10 minutes are precious.
Thus, estimation of probability and preliminary planning can save you much time and many nerves.
