Theft cases, especially stealing mobiles, has been taking place in my community (United Arab Emirates) recurrently causing fear among those individuals who possess these shops that deals with these gadgets. I am not contented with this upcoming problem and that is the reason why I will not rest until I put into practice some solutions that, to me, will help in solving this problem. This is a problem that should be attended to as early as possible, before it becomes a calamity. To me, SARA model will be the appropriate to use for this problem solving. SARA is an ellipsis that stands for scanning, analysis, response, and assessment in that order. This model has proven to be successful in other countries so I don’t expect different result, but the best for our community (Meese, 2010).
These four stages are orderly implemented so as to lessen rooms for uncertainty and end up with a final solid conclusion that is precise. I will start with the first stage that is scanning, under this stage, the law enforcement officials are expected to talk to the citizens so as to identify the potential problems. This calls for a healthier relationship between the citizens and the law enforcement officials. The law enforcement officials may encourage the use of community policing among the citizens and create a good picture among the citizens so as to trim down the fear that exists between them .having done that, the citizens will be willing, without use of force, to give out evidence that will help in solving this problem at hand-theft cases and especially mobile stealing. The next stage is analysis, where the law enforcement officers are expected to study the probable problems, theft cases, so as to develop precise clarification and descriptions about them. At this stage, assumptions are eliminated in order to come up with results that create no room for critics. The law enforcement officials, with the help of the evidence gathered from the citizens, are expected to conduct a thorough study at this stage (Meese, 2010).
The third stage is the response stage, under this stage the law enforcements should come up with a variety of answers, but only the ones with the most promise should be implemented. For example, in order to solve this problem at hand, the law enforcement officials should work as a unit so as to promote the spirit of teamwork. They should also establish good relationship with the citizens, thereby, ending up with a good environment that if free of theft cases especially mobile stealing- power of collaboration. Remember that unity is strength and divided we shall fall (Meese, 2010).
The final stage is assessment, the law enforcements should test the solution implemented so as to try to determine whether it has helped in reducing or eradicating the problem at hand, that is shop thefts and especially mobile stealing .If the solutions implemented has not helped in solving the problem, then it calls for additional analysis, whereby a different set of reactions may be desirable to help in solving the prevailing problem. I can, therefore, say that this method does not limit creativity since it is not static. The law enforcement officials are allowed to come up with other promising solutions if the first solutions implemented proved otherwise. SARA model is what our community (United Arabs Emirates) wants to so as to win this fight against theft cases and especially mobiles stealing (Meese, 2010).
