My mission as a healthcare professional is to provide exemplary healthcare for every patient without bias. I promise to provide continued physical and emotional healthcare to every patient. I also plan to fulfil all the promises through equity in the use of resources. Furthermore, I plan on creating a work environment where each of my colleagues will be comfortable in.
I get a lot of satisfaction by creating genuine smiles on people. This is why I joined the healthcare profession. Ensuring that the health of a person is taken care of is the most effective way of touching people’s lives. In this profession, one plays a big role in bringing forth life into this world. One also plays a role in maintaining that life by ensuring that health is attained.
It is also a field where a lot of research is conducted based on improving healthcare. This contributes to touching lives.
Healthcare deals with the two most intriguing aspects in human beings; life and death. On one hand, there is the fact that healthcare professionals help in bringing life forth. This has been done conventionally through normal birth processes, and non- conventional ways like through invitro fertilisation and test tube babies. On the other hand, healthcare has helped in ensuring the elongation of people’s lives as a way of averting death. This has been done through the use of drugs and also the application of various forms of technology. The same drugs have been applied therapeutically in the alleviation of pain and unwanted feelings. There is no other profession that tackles those two issues with such fervour.
Another reason that led me to pursue healthcare as a career is because it is one of the most rational ways of getting answers to the marvels of nature. This career studies the makeup of the human body. It begins studying this from the smallest single structure that is the inception of a whole functioning system. A more intriguing fact is how this profession delves into the functioning of the various parts of the body. This is useful in research in other subjects.
Devoting my time and resources is one way of ensuring that I fulfil my mission as a healthcare professional. I acknowledge the fact that sickness and health are not time bound and this is why I plan on investing all my time and resources in providing healthcare. This will go a long way in ensuring that I provide continual health care to all patients.
As a way of ensuring that the work environment is conducive, I intend on providing consideration for all my colleagues. This will enhance team work and effective communication which are quite important in this profession. Ensuring that I do not put any of my colleagues or patients at risk will ensure that everyone feels secure. This will go a long way in fostering happiness at the work place.
In a profession, one has to consider both work and personal life. Balancing the two can be a difficult task and this is why I intend on committing on the duty to care principles. As such, I plan on involving both my colleagues and family on these principles. This will ensure that they understand the requirements of my job. This will ensure that I provide quality healthcare to my patients.
