Data of submission:
I am a business intelligence project manager at Dell Inc. What inspired me to get into project management in the business intelligence department is the urge of accomplishing a successful project that will solve problems experienced by senior management at their work place. My main task in the organization is to develop and design the data, analyze the data and report my findings to the company. This process is rigorous as it entails analyzing and reviewing data from both external and internal sources as well as making recommendation before communicating my findings to the senior management.
In the scale of 1 out of 10 I will rate the job of project manager at 8; I rate it highly because it provides a clear sight on how organization objectives and goals will be achieved. Project management is important to an organization as it determines the timeline, resources and budget that are required to complete a specific project (Joseph 2003). What I enjoy most as a project manager is implementing and planning web-based applications.
After collage I went for training on information systems where I attain more skills regarding information technology management. Job security is the most important thing about project management. I am certified as a PMP which is an advantage to me; there are many business organizations that want to acquire my services. My most important task is to review data, this stage is critical and any mistake can affect the outcome of the project (Martin 2002). This is the main reason why I spend most of my time reviewing the given data.
As a business intelligent analyst there are various positive and negative risks I encounter while performing my tasks. At times I discover the data presented to me for reviewing are inaccurate thus I cannot continue working with them. However, given the right resources and support I always deliver good findings which give me the loyalty and respect of my team members.
Data recovery software is one of the tools I used to make my work effective. This tool is important because it enables me to recover data that still require in my project. As a project manager working with senior managers is important because you will be able to learn a few tricks from them. I therefore urge future project managers to learn from experience project management if they want to be successful in their respective fields of specialization.
