The crisis involving discriminations and abuse of minorities has been rampant. The issues have been faced by many cooperation and strategies to overcome them have been the key goal of most businesses. For instance, the situation facing my Corporate Communication, as a VP. Whereby, the CEO D. Emmett Shane heard that there would be a lawsuit due some claims of discriminations against Latino workers and staff. This paper gives the advice I would give to Shane, as VP of the Corporate Communication.
Firstly, I would let Shane know the role of various stakeholders in the management of such problems. Stakeholders are responsible for the success or failure of every business organization. Therefore, to manage such crises employees, shareholders, local community, society at large, government and customers have to be involved in making decisions. They are the one responsible for monitoring and measuring the level of fairness and moral in business. Discussing the problem with employees is helpful in obtaining a long term solution (Stephens, Malone, & Bailey, 2005). I advise the CEO to solve the issue internally by involving all the stakeholders to reach the satisfaction of all the parties involved. Firing, lowering the position and interdepartmental movement of those responsible would be important.
A comprehensive analysis should be employed in determining the effective solution for discrimination in an organization. Mr. Shane should deal effectively with discrimination of Latino workers through laid down strategies within the context of law and companies ethics (Stephens, Malone, & Bailey, 2005). Managers are required to be well informed on issues happening within a company. Therefore, I advise Shane to pay attention to the rising issue and ensure fair benefits to all workers. What individuals’ beliefs on people treatment is important, thus as a CEO Mr. Shane should see people equal and teach other employees to treat and conduct themselves in the undiscriminating manner (Stephens, Malone, & Bailey, 2005). Other pieces of advice to the CEO is to act quickly and effectively to such issues, develop company policies against discrimination and learn from other happenings so as to counter the situation.
Concluding this, the paper gives advice to the CEO on discrimination issues. As seen, working hand in hand with stakeholders, understanding the issues, employing experience, and coming up with policies are ways to avoid the future lawsuit and negative public reputation from all means of discrimination. Finally, I will also advise the CEO to pull some fund to ensure the discriminated party are compensated, and their state in the company be restored.
