Russia is the biggest country in the world. Its economy is ranked tenth in the world regarding the gross domestic product (Peterson, 2005). Five key points are 1. Russia’s total revenue mostly comes from its ICT sector. The ICT sector's contribution amounts to 70%. The country is the biggest telecoms market in Central and Eastern Europe. 2. At the end of the year 2010, research finding shows that the ICT sector caters for 4.6% of the Russian Business enterprise sector employment. 3. In 2009, the Russian language was marked the 8 out of 10 languages on the internet. Russia’s IT internet companies were able to retain a substantial advantage over Google measure of the number of users. 4. The country’s mobile penetration rate topped 160% at the end of 2012. The country’s mobile market was position 6th place as the largest global market. The number of new mobile users has increased to 26B in the year 2006. 5. Foreign investment in Russia’s ICT sector increased to $3.9 billion in 2006, double the figure estimated in 2005. Foreign IT companies are setting up their firms in the region instead of opening branches and representative offices (Peterson, 2005).
