Frame Model
Structural frame can be symbolized by the image of ladder, where people are climbing to reach success. Structure is characterized by concise blocks that form the entire company and where it is essential to create an order. Therefore, formal responsibilities play essential part in the structural element of the frame. The role of each employee is determined and the responsibilities of the entire workforce are clearly defined. In business environment it is essential to preserve the line between the distinctly designated relationship and respect, thus, clear procedures are usually identified in the company. The main image of leadership here is hierarchy and understanding how the system works. The leaders are obliged to follow the chain of command and designate the necessity to follow the rules to their followers. Yet, the main challenge here is the inability to fit into a specific situation and inflexibility, which can be resolved by adjusting the leadership style according to each case.
Focus of human relationship may be characterized by a cycle, which symbolizes the interdependence between people and structural elements of the entire company. This strategy presupposes the orientation to people, which requires from a person to be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of others. This approach requires individual work with every employee and at the same time work in groups. This framework enables the employees the ability to learn and develop personal and professional skills. It will lead the company to growth, better communication, and more effective relationship within the organization as well as with the clients.
A political frame can be symbolized as a labyrinth with its complex rules, multiple ways of resolving a problem, the need to be resourceful, and adjustable to all situations. At the same time, this frame presupposes competition and respect to authority. The negotiations are essential for this frame, as there is a need to resolve the problem on the basis of taking into account the interests of all parties. Simultaneously, this frame presupposes the competition in the external and internal environments, which emphasizes the importance of staying in trend and becoming relevant to the clients. The leadership here focuses of diplomacy, as there is a necessity to consider the interests of all stakeholders and find compromise in the difficult situation. Also, in the case when the power is concentrated in the hands of wrong people or it is dispersed through the company, it will be hard to execute power and guide the followers.
The symbolic frame can be characterized as a sanctuary for the most talented and creative members of the entity. It is all about creativity and innovation that drives the company forward. People here can make original decisions and escape the formality. Ingenuity of the employees will foster the development of the company and can be developed by the leaders through innovative decisions, resolutions, and products. The main challenge for the leader here is to create the atmosphere of a change and transformation to adjust to the changing business environment and ongoing need to innovate.
Questions
Organizations exist to serve the needs of people, because the main target of every company is clients. The venture has to market its products or services and it creates the goods only if there is a demand for them. In this case, it is possible to claim that the power of clients plays a central part in the relationship between organizations and people. Therefore, people and companies need each other, as the first require a product or a service, while the second are interested to produce and sold it. Consequently, if either the company or people cannot create effective relationship with each other, they will not be able to produce and purchase the necessary goods and services. It is possible to assume that good fit will benefit both sides, because people are interested in the productive relationship with the producers, who can make their life more comfortable. Producers, in their own turn, will be able to stay relevant and competitive in the market.
At the same time, if organizations are required to serve people’s needs, they will not be able to take care about their own interests, which presuppose growth, expansion, and generation of financial benefits (Bolman & Deal, 2013). If organizations are not attracted by certain people, they and change the target audience or move to another market, which shows that the companies do not rely on people. In case of disruption in the relationship between people and organization, the company can avoid losses by restructuring its strategy. If the market is monopolistic or there are limited number of producers in a particular area, the fit between the customers and company is not essential, as people will be forced to buy products due to lack of choice.
So as organization, the class consists of people, there are leaders and followers, both formal and informal. The activity in the classroom presupposes rules, obligations, and accountability of the leaders and the followers. The activities in the class serve the needs of the students. The teacher and pupils need each other. The relationship between the students and educators has to be effective in order all sides will reach their goals. Thus, productive relationship between them will benefit both students and teachers. Teaching and administration are different, because administration usually serves the goals of the organization rather than clients. Also, teaching implies that the students learn for themselves and do not follow the strategy of the school.
