Sun Zi explains that when there are struggles made for holding an advantageous position in a war then there exists a state of danger too. To attain control, one has to put certain things at risk. One of the most prominent dangers in making an attempt to have an advantageous position is that the soldiers may get exhausted. This example applies in many arenas of life. If we push ourselves to do more than what our stamina permits us then our efficiency gets affected. Physical and mental fitness both can be maintained by giving ourselves a break.
Using all the arms and ammunitions to attain advantage can also result in lack of a backup if the attempt fails. One must always try to survive in limited resources as overusing what one has can later result in complete absence of resources. To be cautious about future helps one in preparing for it. As Sun Zi explains that an army that has no grains, no heavy equipment wagons or no provisions then it would lose . We can see this stands true today in situations apart from wars. Any sports team requires equipment that helps them to improve their game. A team that lacks resources is ill prepared for any tournament as compared to the one having sports equipment. Even in companies, when a product launch is done then initially it is sold at lower prices as compared to the market price for the same kind of item. Such risk has to be taken to stand out in the market but at the same time they have to be well-calculated.
