This assignment requires that you successfully access online materials. As we all know, navigating cyberspace can be a frustrating experience, for there are many variables in play: the device and/or browser you use (smart phone; Firefox; etc;); the software you have available (Adobe Reader; Word; etc.); operating system; etc. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to access these materials sooner rather than later. If you wait until the last day or, even worse, until just before the deadline, you are taking a chance that you will not be successful in accessing the online materials. Given that I have given you several days to complete this assignment, if not being able to access the online materials results in your paper being submitted late or incomplete, that is a “you problem”, not my problem. I will grade your paper as I would any late submission. Bottom line: Don’t wait until the day of the deadline to access the online materials!!
Evaluative Criteria: Each of your responses will be graded based upon the extent to which is sufficiently fulfills all three of the identified tasks in the Question Rubric. Each question will be a pass/fail question, in which you either receive ALL of the points, or NONE of the points for that particular question.
PART ONE: This part of the paper provides you an opportunity to be a “self-regulated” learner. “Learning is about one’s relationship with oneself and one’s ability to exert the effort, self-control, and critical self-assessment necessary to achieve the best possible results – and about overcoming risk aversion, failure, distractions, and sheer laziness in pursuit of real achievement. This is self-regulated learning.” [Linda B. Nilson / Creating Self-Regulated Learners / (2013)
This part of the assignment should be what you complete after you have answered all of the other questions; nonetheless, I intentionally make it the first part of the assignment for I want you to think of it as a “preview” to what I will be reading and evaluating. In a way, you are conveying to me that you take your learning (and not merely this particular assignment) seriously.
