Causes and Consequences of Unintentional Injuries
Unintentional injuries occur due to the reasons that are out of control of an individual. There could be a range of such causes and may include natural death, diseases, war operations, traffic negligence, natural calamities, stings, drowning, exposure to poisonous substance etc. USA ranks among top countries where such incidents occur and cause a risk to the human life . It is found that males encounter unintentional injuries more than females. The reasons for the unintentional injuries can be both environmental and non-environmental. Unintentional injuries contribute a major portion to the global injuries and may not be ignored .
Prevention-Less Effective
The random events like unintentional injuries are not easy to mitigate and doing anything for their mitigation may not be fruitful otherwise. The planning can be done for incidents that are expected or historical in nature, however, the unexpected incidents could be difficult to be addressed. The prevention can be done in case of previous knowledge of the non-random events. The unintentional injuries bring a sudden complexity for the victim and the prevention in such cases may not be readily available. However, a little planning can be done in order to avoid such cases which may not be applicable for all situations. The unknown incidents carry a different nature of impact and any planned strategy may not be effective for such varying nature of unplanned incidents .
