The webinar highlights some of the health issues that affect women. It is about the challenges that women undergo in their search for affordable medical healthcare, the preventive sides as well as the maternity care and mental health. This tend to deal with the various issues affecting women such as the access to medical services, how to take the preventive measures to ensure healthy living especially among women. Maternity care is another area of concern among women that addressed by the Act.
This presentation has got a number of shortcomings such as the way the presenters conduct themselves. It is more of a question answer presentation where most of the presenters were giving their view on the Act. The audiences are not given proper chance to contribute to the discussion hence it all leans to one side of the discussion. Therefore, it would have been better if the journalists are also given time to air their opinion on the same.
It is also evident that the whole discussion is not gender sensitive as majority if not all the presenters are from a particular gender, which are women in this case. Moreover, it goes without saying that women will be in support of the topic hence a situation of biasness is created as witnessed in this discussion (the interactive section).
It is indeed not in order that the people of the same interest are given an opportunity to discuss a matter that is in their interest. The presenters were women hence the path they took on discussing the whole issue was not in accordance with the law of natural Justice that dictates that there should not be any biasness when it come to the issues of the law. The women had already had a formed opinion on the topic that they were to talk about hence their discussion was expected to be learned to one side of the forum.
The organizers of the function are also an issue in this case. The forum is an initiative of the government hence it is an obvious case that it would be in favor of the Act. It is crystal clear that there is favoritism when it comes to the generation of the ideas in relation to the Act.
The gist of the Act is the affordability, accessibility and the general plight of women when it comes to the issue of healthcare. Preventive measures on the side of the government; to the people is also an issue that has been addressed in this talk. It has given an overview of how many women struggle to get access to medical services in the States and also given the exact number of those who strain in order to access these facilities. Moreover, the role of the state in helping curb the inaccessibility of the facilities is also addressed in the webinar.
It is indeed a good forum for the leaders to address the key concerns of the people that are directed to them through the media. The people are able to hear and listen to their leaders discuss various issues that are of their concerns.
