International organizations are those bodies that operate in many countries like the United Nations. As a result, the organizations bring together various countries and the regulations that govern the management of such organizations must satisfy the views of member states (Woods 1999, 52). However, the quality of governance that applies to the organizations is subject to various queries. As there is the need to have a criterion for judging the governance of international organizations, there are certain criteria that enable the public as well as other responsible agencies to judge the governance of international organizations.
Secondly, through the manner in which the organizations distribute grants or any other form of assistance offered to various groups within its member countries, is enough criterion to conclude the state of the organization in regards to governance. If there appears to be any form of bias, then it is evident that the organization’s governance is wanting and need immediate retrenchment (Muldoon et al. 2011, 173).
Finally, based on the United Nations charter, it offers a blueprint for governance. According to the charter, the organizations can action against any form of prejudice and mistreatment to humanity. The charter connotes that the organization provides assistance in times of war, by preaching and implementing procedures for the execution of peace and tranquillity among the members of society. It is evident that the organization fights for human rights in all situations and it tends to ensure that all its member states abide by its regulations concerning the security of the human race (Andrews 2013, 17). Therefore, it is prudent to conclude that the charter gives a blueprint for its governance.
