Quizlet is an online tool for learning created by Sutherland. In 2015, SimilarWeb recognized it as the fastest growing US education site. The software functions as a code program that is used to assist people in memorization. A user who intends to use Quizlet should register to the site on the terms that are as per the needs. Some of the modules are the flashcard that allows a user to flip over cards or use arrow keys and see the definitions of names. Gravity allows a user to type a name and check its definition before it reaches the bottom of a screen (Chen et al. 894-895). Learn shows a user a term and the definition, and he or she is supposed to type it then a result is indicated on the correctness. Speller reads a word loudly, and then users must type it correctly. Scatter gives the user some scattered terms, and they drag them to the specific definitions within the shortest time possible.
Quizlet may have insecurity issues since malicious software like a virus can easily tamper with the tool causing it to output wrong answers and definitions. Software compatibility is a challenge because the tool may fail to function in operating systems that are not Android supported.
Quizlet can be used in a large suite in an area where it is intended to be utilized by multiple users. The software can be networked to function in different devices then the users can perform similar tasks checking the outcome and comparing among themselves.
Some of the competitors for Quizlet are POWERPREP and Kahoot!. Kahoot! is very simple to use in which teachers can set questions allowing students to discuss them, and then receive electronic feedback. POWERPREP is clear and user-friendly, and users can switch based on the type of questions. Quizlet is better placed to its competitors because it allows for diverse uses, unlike the alternatives that support limited functions.
The tutorial shows how to setup Quizlet basic operations, contradicting issues, and examples of worked out terms and their definitions. The tutorial is very helpful since it gives the users a better understanding of the tool and simplifies its usage even to those without prior knowledge. The tutorial should have given a better insight on the specific capabilities of the tool and show some of the common mistakes made during its usage.
