Read and Review on an Assessment Topic
In terms of this paper I would like to analyze the article Early Childhood Curriculum and Assessment. I will focus my attention on the issues discussed in the publication, express my opinion about ideas present in the article and explain its importance for my future career.
The mentioned above article raises a lot of interesting and crucial issues, which should know each teacher, educator or any other person, who will ever work in the field of education. The main focus of the article is early education, childhood curriculum, its inevitable components and assessment of learning process.
Education is an essential part of life of each person. Prominent educators suggest that it is especially necessary to pay enough attention to early childhood education, because it is the basis of all education. Early childhood education should guarantee right development of children and it can be possible only with appropriate early childhood curriculum.
At present time there are no doubts that professional early childhood curriculum should be well planned and organized in such a way, which will allow all children to be engaged in the learning process. Apart from this, early childhood programs should take into account abilities of children, their linguistic and cultural development. These are inevitable conditions, which can guarantee learning success of all children.
Any childhood curriculum should be designed in accordance with several key principles. First of all, it should allow children to develop their skills easily and remain active all the time. Their cognitive and physical abilities should constantly develop and grow. This will allow children to have positive impression from learning process. These goals and intentions should be clearly understood not only by teachers and administrators, but by parents as well.
The article expresses an idea that early childhood education should be based on such processes as play and investigation. Children should always have a chance to explore, while studying. It is one of the main conditions of successful childhood programs.
A lot of attention in the article is paid to assessment as a center of educational process. Assessment should include a variety of goals, discussed while learning, and embrace a variety of learning activities. Correct assessment is important not only for children and their parents, but for teachers as well, because they can analyze progress of the class and improve program.
In my opinion, this article is rather useful and covers a lot of important aspects related to childhood education, curriculum and assessment. I should say that I totally agree with the ideas expressed in the article. I enjoyed reading about curriculum and its indicators of quality. I think that the authors of the article included rather important features of successful childhood programs and all teachers and administrators should have understanding of these principles.
Assessment is another part of the article, which I really enjoyed. It is impossible to speak about success of education without appropriate professional assessment. In my point of view, the author of the article covered the most important indicators of learning progress and effectiveness. Aspects covered in this part of the article are important and should be understood by all educators. In conclusion, I should say that the article is quite interesting and can be useful for any person, who is closely related to childhood education.
