Dear Program Director:
I am writing in support of the candidacy of Nitin [INSERT LAST NAME HERE] to your MBA program.
I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Nitin during my quest to start my own company. Starting a company is a difficult endevour, and finding the right people to is a definite challenge. After going through several rounds of interviews and meeting many people, I hired Nitin and a few other employees. Nitin was a splendid hire, and he proved to be inquistive, driven, and hard working. He was an excellent complement to the team, and was able to design the core architecture of our systems in a streamlined and efficient way.
Priot to forming my company and hiring Nitin, I received my engineering degree in India and after moved to the US to complete my MBA at Purdue University. During my first year I connected with likeminded people who wanted to start their own business, and was able to network with diverse groups of people in technology, business, and many other fields. At the time, the market was recovering from the dot-com crash. I was eager to utilize my skills to bridge the gap between the US and India in order to use the talented resources in India to help American corporate clients. I took a hiatus and went to India to gather a team that I could rely on and was motivated to execute our common goal.
Passageways was founded in 2003 in order to provide a platfrom for shaping enterprise and industry knowledge into new found successes. Passageways is the leading provider of collaborative portal solutions. We impact organizations of all sizes around the world and have created over 300 products for various clients, including: banks, insurance companies, and hospitals. I currently emply a team of approximately 40 people who are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to collaboration, communication streamlining, process automation, and knowledge management.
Within a few months of working with Nitin it was clear to me that I made the right decision by hiring him. Very quickly he distinguished himself as a leader and a visionary. He was not only good at executing projects, but also was involved in generating ideas. As Passageways was a startup company, I was looking for people who were willing to take risk and willing to put in hard work. Nitin fit that profile exactly. Nitin was involved in creating the core architecture design of the portal products. In that period of time, Passageways had a view to create a university portal product which Nitin was intimately involved with.
I have also worked with Nitin on a project for Prudential Financial. This was a difficult project that needed to be executed in a short time. The team included 6 people that were selected to execute this project; Nitin was leading the team from India. It was a critical project for Prudential and involved new technology that was unfamiliar to most in the team. With his prior experience in the new technology and inuititive ability to simplify processes, Nitin was able to organize the team and deliver the project in time. He was extensively involved in the architecture design of the system, and the development and creation of the project plan.
In conclusion, I have found Nitin to be entrepreneurial, hard-working and passionate. He has brought to every project that we have worked on together a drive to complete the task at hand. He is willing to spend endless amounts of time with a problem until he finds a practicable solution and is constantly driven to explore new areas and to expand his intellectual horizons. Nitin is a very talented individual and will be an excellent addition to your program. I am certain that both he, and the university, will be enriched by his presence.
Thank you,
