Executive Summary
The UM&UC company has grown to the point when for the successful operation it needs to update the telecommunication base for its sales department, which has become extremely mobile. The external evaluation showed that IT supervision development was too slow for the extremely dynamic sales teams. Without changes the sales team would continue experience communication difficulties, which have become very pronounced and noticeable for employees. This forced several activists to start using their own devises to support their work what proves that the end user understand their needs
IT department provides services, but they do not reach the end users in the sales department and a sales support team. This means, that the technical supervision should be improved using solutions offered by vendors of mobile technologies. The main attributes as well as fundings has been approved, and now the IT team should choose the best devise suitable for all 75 sales and 107 sales support team members across the US, Europe, Asia, and MEA (Middle East & Africa). As there is no specific orders concerning the limitations all market tablets will be evaluated first by simple functional screening and later by deep analysis.
The previous analysis and discussion has resulted in the maximal cost set to $750.00 per unit based on the UM&UC available funding and identified thirteen tablet requirements presented in the table below. The devises software will be evaluated only in terms of the potential it potential to support the needed active functionalities and based on the data provided by the manufacturer. Based on the latest review (Egan, 2016) the Apple, Samsung, Lenovo devices will be considered.
Technical Recommendation
Based on the information from official web sites following models were chosen for the final comparison:
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7" 16GB (Wi-Fi) with S Pen, Smoky Titanium (Samsung, n.d.)
iPad Air 2 (Compare iPad, n.d.)
Lenovo™ Yoga Tab 3 Pro (Yoga, n.d.)
The tablets on Windows platform have been excluded, as these model supporting listed functionalities were too expensive. (Tablet, n.d.)
For the better comparison, the properties for the three listed models are summarized below.
Technical Summery
Based on the attribute list Lenovo™ YOGA Tab 3 Pro 10 or seems to be the best choice as its up to 2.2.4 GHz processor would better support multitasking and creation of different presentations and videos as well as their demonstration which could be performed either on QHD screen (2560 x 1600) with 299 ppi or using installed projector. It s 2GB RAM would allow fast operation, however, the initial RAM is not big enough , only 32 GB, it can be extended to 128 GB, what should be enough considering the possibility to connect to the corporate network. The connection is secured using McAfee® Security, to prevent any possible damage. It is also possible to use voice control, which would make the presentations more convenient.
The sales team often needs to take pictures, this model has the best integrated camera (rear : 13 MP Auto Focus and front : 5 MP Fixed Focus), what enables not only good pictures but a good visualization during online conferences.
