It is important that human resource recruiters are able to find candidates that fit into the required positions in the company. Recruiters often look for talents who can contribute to the company’s success. However, it is also important that recruiters have unique ways when it comes to attracting potential candidates, especially the ones that can be an asset to the business. This discussion talks about how human resource recruiters use some of the unique and innovative ways in the technical industry. Although these approaches may have already been in place, it is essential that recruiters must continue to develop new more ways on how to attract new talents.
According to Gurion (2012), Tech companies normally use 4 ways to attract new talents. These include, hacking it, pool it, prove it, and train it. Hacking potential talents means that the company would use internal hacking competition in order to attract new talents (Gurion, 2012). Furthermore, tech companies are competing with each other for new talents, which make them to pool all their resources just to get in touch with people who can fill in the key positions in the company. On the other hand, companies also give time to potential talents to prove themselves prior to being chosen in the position. Training potential talents is another approach that tech companies use. Companies retrain non-tech employees so they can be qualified for the said position. Although some of the companies are not in favor of this approach, many of them was able to prove its effectiveness.
One of the recommendations for tech companies to attract talents is to use the employee referral program. This will help the recruiters in looking for talents by the active employees themselves. Employees already know what the company culture is and how the business goes and this will give them the idea about what type of person can fit into this business (Anderson, 2013). Additionally, this innovative way of recruiting will motivate employees to look for new talents due to additional incentive they can get for every one successful recruit.
