The company has decided to implement new recycling rules in connection to some concerns that have been raised by community members. In trying to live up to its image, the company has decided to increase recycling efforts in the operation of its business. The extent of wastage and non-conventional waste disposal has come to the attention of management. Some employees are misappropriating company resources, and this has led to incurrence of extra unnecessary costs. Implementation of the rules will be in accordance to modern recycling practices that are being used in major big companies. These new rules will help provide a cleaner environment in both the organization and the surrounding community. Regular inspections and waste disposal meetings will be held to ensure continued adherence and dedication of the organization in helping to reduce environmental pollution. Each employee is required to exercise common sense in the interest of protecting the environment. Certain violation of the new rules will be the basis for suspension or dismissal. Cooperation of every member is critical in ensuring that resources are not wasted, and environmental protection objective is continually achieved throughout the entire organization.
The new rules are intended to address concerns raised by community members and members of the organization. For instance, most of you have noted that the company website lacks any information on recycling efforts. Thus to lead by example, the organization will develop new recycling programs that community members can access through the internet. Consequently, recycling efforts around the office will be increased following the evidence of limited recycling efforts. The evidence of disposal of two old computers in the dumpster behind the building is an example of the poor recycling practices that the company has. The company has sought to implement e-waste strategies that companies like IBM are implementing to ensure that this does not happen again. Proper disposal is necessary as it ensures that certain poisonous chemicals such as cadmium that exist in computer parts are not released into the environment, as they can pollute water systems and rivers. The organization will seek collaboration with e-waste handling companies to ensure that old computers are properly disposed. Furthermore, proper disposal will ensure that any important company information containing private customer information does not fall into the wrong hands. As an organization, we strive to ensure that all customer information is kept private and confidential. Additionally, another issue of concern has been the excessive use of copy paper by employees. Certain employees have gone to use the company’s copy papers for their own personal use. As such, the company has decided to implement a new policy that requires the employees to key in the use of the copy papers and machines, which will ensure that the company does not incur unnecessary expenses.
Employees’ participation in ensuring adherence to the new rules concerning recycling will make a great difference. In doing so, you will help in instilling confidence in the community about the organizations efforts in environmental protection while at the same time ensure that awareness is raised all over the community. All of us are responsible for our environment and if we do not take care of it, we will be the ones who suffer. If we continually abuse it, our sons and daughters will have no place to live in the future. So let as all be inspired to protect the environment for our own existence and the future generations.
