Dear Professor .,
Even though I presented a good paper for my rhetorical analysis essay, I recognize that I could have done much better in some areas of the assignment. The comments provided with the grading have also been an eye opener as to what I should have done do attain an excellent grade. I had wanted to present a well written rhetorical analysis essay that makes a good assessment of the sources provided, identifying the rhetorical elements provided by the author, and providing adequate supporting evidence.
My revision is focused on the introduction, conclusion, argument, and evidence, and updating the works cited page. I have worked on strengthening the introduction and improving the focus of the thesis. I have worked on making the opening lines more memorable and enhanced the thesis to reflect the position that the essay is taking including the areas covered in the article, with clarity. I have also improved the conclusion by focusing on the points discussed and summarized my arguments and evidence. I have also examined the evidence that I had provided and made an attempt to improve the supporting evidence by tying the points to my arguments in the essay. I have worked on supporting each rhetorical element with evidence from the passage. Finally, I have examined the works cited entry to ensure that all sources used within the essay are present in the works cited page and listed according to MLA.
Following the revision, the paper has achieved greater clarity and flow as its greatest strength. The evidence illustrates the arguments better and makes understanding easier. In addition to clarity and flow, the improved introduction serves as a great opener for the essay by clearly indicating the arguments presented.
