Twain targets the hypocrisy of human nature. He satirizes the philosophies which claim that man can perfect himself. Twain lays a lot of focus on the man’s innate nature, and he seems to mock the idea of a moral perfect as well as the religious sentiments originating from transcendentalism. Twain's message is that all humans have the conscience, which should help guide them morally. However, the society corrupts such morals and uses it for approbation.
Twain’s story prepares us to think more structured approaches to ethics. For instance, the way that people talk, we are very mean cruel people, and we do not want to accept the reality. We are often quick in judging others more, so we are lazy and selfish. Religion and morality are two related phenomena since the history of humans ways of thinking morally, and acting rally have always depended upon religious revelation. Plato, a Greek philosopher in his writings, believes that religion and morality are two very separate phenomena. Kant on the other hand in his thinking that religion and morality their relationship ate mutually necessary. Some thinker, however, doubted the importance of religion. For instance, Marx a social critic viewed religion as measures to support the moral norms of the ruling groups concealing wrong deeds with false allure.
I think it is the best thing to being moral. It is simply the right thing to do. Everybody seeks what is serviceable to him or her. Therefore, if you know what is good, then you should always act in a way to achieve it. Many people act immorally, but the sad thing is that they do it deliberately.
