Throughout history, religion was always the most powerful source of common values in the building of society. It promotes the unity of the humanity, strengthens peace love and friendship amongst people. Besides, the religion has become one more branch of the government and sometimes it is sought to be unfair and disingenuous.
The great role is being played by the democracy. You should not be mocked or penalized because of your beliefs and your religious choice. Every democratic constitution protects the right of religion. However, many believers can face disapproval and neglect because of their choice. Actually it causes various great conflicts and even may lead to wars.
Another interesting thing about religions we may face today is that they can conflict with each other because of their strict contradictions in rules. It means that nowadays religious systems are not able to sustain unity within the society. For example, the question of the equality of women and men, the need to develop biology or astronomy – every conflict usually results in violation.
A great part of our society thinks says that the religion is an absolutely private choice and that every person should be left alone with his or her opinion. However, many people feel themselves safe just in case they are in a faith groups and this option becomes not very private and may seem uncomfortable or provoking.
Generally, religion does not mean to teach something bad or drive your soul into the corner of rules and prohibitions. Its main task is to establish the truth in the world and to decrease violence and hopelessness. What is worth mentioning is that the criticism of religion can turn to the criticism of our existence. It may seem quite vague, but each of us has its own determination of life and it should not be under consideration.
