Multi-various Religious thoughts and language usages existing in developing nations are an issue leading to conflicts. The Mahayana Buddhism and Shintoism predominantly followed religions in Japan in its pathway has prescribed the mind to apply moral values in every walk of life; whether it is a work place, family or the society.
The concept of the Japanese word ‘Wa’ advocates the mind in principles of harmony in togetherness, to keep away from the selfish individualistic thoughts obstructing the good values in ‘team spirit’ and productive ‘team work’ strengths. Likewise, words like ‘Kao’, ‘Omoiyari’ are positive thoughts promoting practices relating to the human sense of empathy, loyalty, relationship, and trust leading to mutual respect for others feelings. These vital, good human values in thought, guiding the Japanese to success in business, family relationship and the togetherness in society is the outcome of healthy religious ethnicity influences.
Religious ethnicity is one of the core reason of the positive side of religious interaction in all walks of life which has kept at bay conflicts persistently in a country like Japan, to be admired, appreciated, and accepted for thoughts to follow for success by embracing good values in life cutting across boundaries of cast, creed, religion, language, culture or country.
For any work atmosphere to adapt very easy to practice values does not need a brand, name, author, subject, or topic. All it needs is a positive vision to follow worthwhile workable principles to achieve success like Japan whose model of hierarchy, honor, and etiquette reflected in many social and business practices. Understanding culturally influenced protocols is to emulate worthwhile practices.
Western technology embracing numerous successful practices from cross cultural influences of religious ethnicity from a country like Japan would only enhance the performance in work atmospheres. America to a very large extent has been influenced by a huge ethnic population which carries in their mind their religious studies. The governance accepting the good values and the worthwhile aspects of varying ethnic human mind has helped the successful economic growth of the country.
Worthwhile practices out of religious ethnicity from Japan which can be adopted are:
(1) decisions can be made swiftly and efficiently by bearing in mind a sense of calmness which would not rush through diligent decision making; (2) making personal calls substituting a mail or a letter would have a sense of good manners; (3) adhering steadfast to punctuality by arriving before time rather than late arrivals creating disrespect for values of time; (4) begin negotiation process in the executive level on to middle level while discussing and deciding about the approach within the group; (5) the order of seating could be based on the seniority where the senior most sits in the front and the down in the hierarchy, following their senior in their seating arrangement; (6) the senior person ought to be given the option to choose to sit with the exit possibility near to the door; (7) even to a low ranking individual respect has to be given because he too has an opportunity to grow as a manager; (8) giving greater respect to the eldest members in the working atmosphere out of values in cultural upbringing; (9) while educational background and ability are considered, age factors also should be included in decisions; (10) providing personal space has to be considered ensuring others thoughts are not interfered of influenced; (11) accepting or offering a business card should be out of courtesy, respect, and care for its content value; (12) a gesture in offering a token of gift in business, shows respect or gratitude when the commercial value of it does not project it as an influencing factor like a bribe; (13) while restricting questions trespassing too much into personal aspects of an individual a small talk with very limited time, before negotiation would generate a positive energy; (14) long term enduring business relationships should be encouraged positively through sustaining business relationship even after business or after care services for customers and clients.
Etiquette projecting good manners is a protocol practiced in any environment creating a decorum respected by any human mind. Here again it is worthwhile to follow certain do’s and don’ts as a part of business etiquette which are:
(1) do apologize at all appropriate times by being sincere in the intentions and express gratitude frequently to be polite; (2) do avoid confrontations out of negative emotions; (3) do express opinions openly evading aggressive refusals; (4) do greet your counterparts with proper respect by accepting their approaches where different cultures may have different ways of expressing politeness like a bow where a proper handshake would be sufficient; (5) don’t give excessive praise or encouragement to a single person while addressing a group; (6) don’t address a counterpart by the first name when it is courteous to use titles like ‘Mr.’ or ‘Mrs.’; (7) don’t use provocative hand gestures stretching across to wide space, unusual facial expressions or dramatic movements.
The above principles to be practiced in any walk of life are an adaptation of what is taught by a learned teacher to disciple in any cultural discipline. Religious ethnicity is defined as to what it adheres to, essentially integrating the values as culture for human race to follow for bettering ways of life. It has turned to be the face value of human mind in groups which defines it as ethnicity factor with a language, custom, country, and costume, prescribing moral values of life.
