I do agree that everything is all in us as human beings. We should accept that life as mighty as it is, this is because in life we will go through so many experiences some good and others bad, but most of them are beyond our control and we must learn to accept them. This was a diary written by Etty Hillesum, at a historic time when the Nazis had taken control over Germany. During this time war was the everyday occurrence and death was not a new thing. Amidst all these inhumanity and immorality, Etty was able to come out with acceptance of the world and love for God (Hillesum, 56).
We, like Etty, should learn to accept the way life is, humanity is the source of heaven and also the source of hell. Someone can be your heaven and someone else can be your hell. We can also create our own heaven by seeing the positive side of things and allowing that to bring out the positive side of us, or we can create our own hell by always picking the wrong and negative side about everything and this eventually brings out the negative side of us. Heaven is a place where all the virtues exist like forgiveness, patience, love and trust and with these one can be able to live their lives to the fullest. Hell is full of mistrust and all the worst things in life that one can ever imagine.
We should all reject hell, this is because it is the one place where evil triumphs good. We should all create heaven for ourselves and for each other (Hillesum, 110). This makes life easier and better for everyone.
Anyone who believes that we should accept it is accepting evil, this is because some believe that hell is where the bad people go to be punished for eternity, however by faith we believe in forgiveness and we wish no harm to anybody, this therefore means that we reject hell and accept heaven.
