Part 1
The term refers to some forms of new beginnings, resurgences or rebirths that occur within a culture. The impressions held by people about a Renaissance vary depending on what they perceive as the key cause and chief effect of the rebirth. My impression of a Renaissance can be summarized as “positive response to the latest social and cultural developments”. The main reason why this is my impression of a Renaissance is because, in my view, a Renaissance is a response to such positive developments as the advancements in technology.
There are many renaissances that have taken place through history to the present times. Perhaps the most noteworthy Renaissance in the 21st century is the response that the education system has taken towards such current trends as the awareness relating to such aspects as sustainability, global warming and climate change. McDonough (2004) notes that the current education system has changed in such a manner that design students are taught to integrate into their practice, considerations for sustainability with regard to climate change, and global warming. Secondly, the extent to which the current education is reliant on online study resources such as e-libraries and online databases is another form of 21st century education Renaissance (Petrides, 2012).
Part 2
Among the primary causes of the Renaissance are such factors as education, advancements in technology, globalization efforts, as well as urbanization and cultural diversity (Petrides, 2012).. These are all inevitable factors in the modern world, and they all point to one primary factor – change. Such change further accelerates the need for changes in the way such things as art are executed, resulting in a Renaissance. In my opinion, Renaissance in a culture is a good thing because, as mentioned earlier, Renaissance is a positive response to change. In other terms, the Renaissance is some form of ideological revolution in a ceeraainns field. Such changes seek to merge creativity with reality.
It is quite obvious that the united states is currently experiencing a Renaissance. From the description of the term Renaissance, it is clear that the American culture is in a continuous state of flux, especially considering that technology is constantly providing new opportunities such as the making and consumption of genetically modified foods – a practice that has taken root in recent years. Summarily, the US is in Renaissance considering that it has to deal with such culture changing decisions as the ones affecting immigration and diversity of cultures.
