Lab Report
This experiment gives a clear indication of infrared spectroscopy carried out in line with the laid down procedure. The preparation of the A KBr pellet helped in the generation of good results. These were accurate with minimal errors in them. The spectrums generated were of different wave lengths. This indicates the effects of light in their presence. The visibility of light determined the length of the waves in each of the experiments conducted. The calculations can be done using the recommended formula.
However, this is dependant on the type of conditions put down for the performance of the experiment. Each of the isotopes had to be given a preferential treatment in line with the laid procedures of the experiment. The number of vibration models had to be properly calculated in order to help in the determination of IR. However, it should consider the vibration degrees of freedom of H2O.
The experiments produced different results in each of them. This is because no similarity could be expected because of the varying conditions in which they were conducted. Hence, there had to be all the regions of the spectroscopy as is always the case. Meaning, there was a near, mid far and far regions. These were clearly distinct as ca be served in the results in each of the tables. The species of the isotopes were distributed randomly throughout the table which was used in the performance and analysis of the results. This is showing that the experiments had variations and could generate results with some small degree of error in their accuracy. The spectra for all the organic compounds used could therefore be identified without any problem. Hence, the objectives of the experiments were achieved as planned before.
