According to the definition by Institute of Medicine (1999), the notion “quality of care” should be applied to consider the degree to which health services, designed to meet the needs of individuals and population as a whole increase the likelihood of getting positive health outcomes.(4-7) Each company works out its own approach to reach excellence in healthcare services it provides. To reach high-quality care the business may emphasize different aspects of their activities (e.g., report paying particular attention to HR, innovations, new technologies etc.)
The article, provided by me, refers the reader to the quality-related approach developed by Intermountain Health Care, which has been named the best health care system in America four times in past five years. The main peculiarity of IHC is that it operates as non-profit organization with limited budget. According to company’s strategy, the secret of quality healthcare is connected with hiring excellent professionals and paying particular attention to their future development. So, is main challenges were associated with going away from traditional recruitment sites and ensuring effectiveness of online advertisements. To cope with existing challenges that company worked out an online recruitment strategy, which allowed it to attract job-seekers to its website and establish a link between candidate interviews and association meetings, so that a chance to save money and speed up the whole process appeared. All the efforts resulted in increasing company’s access to talented candidates and working out a flexible system, whose performance can be easily assessed. Positive trends were seen in terms of reducing costs, spent on online advertisements and increased effectiveness of the system.
