After reading the news article about Mitt Romney, I am quite astounded that the Republican House can be divided by a figure such as Donald Trump. If even the political candidates who are supposed to be his allies dismiss Trump as a person worthy to win the candidacy, then it says something about Donald Trump’s character, his supporters, and the Republican House in general.
For one, it can be agreed upon that Donald Trump is a very polarizing character to say the least. For a presidential candidate, he has some unbecoming views especially when it comes to disabled people, immigrants, and the like. In addition, he does not possess the necessary intelligence and experience that would make him fit for becoming president. His claims to fame are his wealth and reputation regarding business, neither of which make him a good presidential candidate.
Furthermore, instead of refuting Romney’s attacks against him, he instead retaliated with insults as well, thereby proving that he lacks maturity needed to run the presidential office in a country such as the United States of America. What is even more saddening is that he has a huge number of supporters that are just like him, and their numbers are growing by the day.
When the matter of presidency is thought of rationally, it can be concluded that Trump is the least favorable candidate hence even Republicans who are supposed to be his allies actively voice out their disdain for him. This is a sad case for the Republican house. After all, it is said that a house divided from within cannot hope to stand for very long.
