A research design connotes to the specific pattern followed by a research. Apparently, there exist three methods of carrying out research. The three methods include; qualitative research, quantitative research and mixed method of research. Essentially, before carrying out research, a researcher specifically in the nursing field should consider vital factors. The mentioned factors would determine the quality research design. Primarily, in the nursing fraternity, it is essential to consider objectives and purposes of the study. Prior to choosing a research design, a clear hypothesis of a particular study should need consideration (Connett, 2014). Typically, a formulated research design would assist a researcher in accomplishing the specific objectives. Achievement of the specific objectives would be possible by effectively and efficiently answering the research hypotheses. In nursing, a specific objective in determining the reasons for the rise in improper Medicare would be achieved by clearly evaluating the challenges involved.
Prevalently, prior to choosing a design, the vital purpose of the highlighted design need establishment. Often, every research design aims at accomplishing a specific purpose. It is, therefore, a demand that the purpose of studying a research be in tandem with the research design purpose chosen for study. The mentioned homogeneity would greatly assist in data processing and accurate analysis (Paluck, 2010). In nursing, for example, by performing a detailed survey on the victims of endemic infections, it would be vital to issue numeric descriptions of the infected. By so doing, the purpose of establishing the best remedies through reliable sampling method would be achieved. Additionally, data collection of the mentioned victims would be efficient.
Practically, when selecting a research design, a vigilant examination of the relationship between the specific variables involved in the study require consideration. The mentioned relationship would enable a researcher to correlate the variables. Additionally, the nursing researcher would establish a valid sample frame and a reliable sample size. When establishing the major cause of the increase in mortality, a nursing researcher would clearly determine the related variables. In this case the mentioned variables would be between the causes of deaths and the individuals dead. Therefore, relevant data collection techniques would be established.
