Tourism is a great income earner for many economies around the world. America, therefore, is not an exception. Fundamentally, through the United States Travel Association, the country pushes its agenda for the travel and tourism (Middleton et al. 38). Some of the activities that the association deals with include trade events, acting as a spokesperson for the travel industry in the country, conducting research projects for the industry, and offering knowledge and information concerning the tourism industry in America. The mission of the U.S. Travel Association is to increase traveling to and within America. The primary objectives of the association are to make traveling in America a pleasant experience and to ensure that the customers get value for their money when they are traveling. Apart from that, the association also aims at ensuring that the industry players get good returns on their investment and get rewarded accordingly.
One of the main functions of the organization is to conduct economic research on behalf of the industry players and update on the various matters concerning the sector (Middleton et al. 82). In essence, the impact of travel and tourism on the American economy is immense. From the various studies that the association conducts, the team gets information regarding total expenditure of people when they travel, as well as the employment opportunities available in different companies within the industry. As a result of this, the country can position itself strategically and get the real picture of where it lies in matters regarding the travel and tourism. The players in the industry can know how to strategize and overcome challenges so that they can continue being in business and earn profits. The economy of the country is also boosted in the process because the companies will pay taxes and other obligations.
