Questionnaire Construction
Are the faith based societies more helpful than secular based societies in solving numerous social problems?
The members of faith based organizations have constantly maintained that success has been witnessed in programs such as of prisoners, drug addicts, at the youth and the entire populations suffering from these problems. However, closer assessments on these facts reveal that these are just mere statistics acquired through carrying out research on a few families. A successful research on the effectiveness of faith based organization needs to be carried out to establish a clear role played by the faith based organizations.
The catholic churches, Salvation Army and Lutheran social services are on the lead in providing such programs to solve most of the problems faced by the society. However, most questions are still being raised in relation to the effectiveness of faith based organizations to solving social problems. The programs run by the DIGUNA Teen challenge use biblical approaches in dealing with the menace instead of rehabilitation. There emphasis is on spiritual transformation. Research needs to be carried out to establish the religious exposure to the people affected to the religious programs.
The earlier researches have shown that faith based societies are more helpful in offering social services as compare to governmental or secular counterparts. What is it that facilitates the efficacy of these initiatives?
A research is necessary to identify and document spirituality and religions’ role as a program behind the influence of these outcomes that are specific. Is it spirituality or religion responsible for these outcomes out these programs?
Research methods such as qualitative are recommended to unearth the truths in this process and how these programs relate. It will aid in understanding and isolating the various factors that revolve within these programs and how they are get to influence one another and the outcomes of the program.
What are the crucial variables responsible for influencing a decision a person will make in accepting to be a volunteer –and why?
What factors are responsible for volunteer motivations? Are there opportunities to learn other virtues? Is it possible to establish through research the predisposing factors on groups and people to behaviors that are altruistic? Or equally crucial, what factors are responsible for strengthening or diminishing group and individual commitments to the act of volunteering over particular time? Are there experiences to those who commonly volunteer and what necessitates their discipline on this behaviors?
Research is required to establish the motivations geared towards selfless, gratitude, and tendencies of empathy.
What are the secrets behind the success of the faith based organizations in sustaining and maintain the volunteers?
The faith based organizations have always been playing a role in the public life for many years. The reason is that they have been behind the scenes. It is only this year that they have been featured in the public life. The faith based organizations have been playing a part through contributing funds towards delivery of social service.
It as been debated for many years that-: the church is main catchment of volunteers. The volunteers need to be the Christian love to achieve positive impact in alleviating the social problems affecting our society.
Is there any probability that the volunteers will report that they are either secular or religious? Is there any important reason to accept as true that worship houses can deliberately marshal volunteers to certain levels in future?
What are the administrative, political and legal conditions under which these organizations are established?
The rational choices theorists have for many years have deliberated on how environments surrounding bureaucracies are full of individuals who are self serving who subvert, shirk and misuse their jobs. The rational choice individuals have little to contribute in relation to the bureaucrats.
Despite the fact that rational choice theorist are in a position to offer evidence that able to aid the fact that public servants are in pursuit of narrow self interest pursuits. Researches on this behavior among the bureaucrats need to be carried out to pursue truths in relation to other public servants who display exemplary altruistic behaviors in serving the public.
What are the most notable crucial determinants of civic participations and engagement?
It as been noted that-: volunteering, civic engagement and social capital have kept on diminishing in various parts of the world. People are increasingly isolating themselves and distancing themselves from group participations. This is attested by Putman Robert who authored Bowling Alone.
However, Greely Andrew is against this idea that volunteering is diminishing showing that people are not likely to participate in volunteer roles today unlike in the past.
At the centre of this argument is the social capital concept. This as been constantly referred to as -: trustworthiness in reciprocating relationships. What portion of social capital is spiritual capital? What relationship is there between spiritual and social capital and behaviors that are altruistic and engagement of civic?
How can organizations and workers religiously motivated combat egotistical and anti social behavior?
Over the last years, notable institutions have come out with lots of evidence pointing out to religious or religion lots of results. They have confirmed that religious involvement and commitment are crucially connected to lowering of behaviors that are delinquent. However numerous studies have revealed that constant religious participation or attendance are connected to abuse among both women and men.
Can government and faith based organizations work jointly in combating social problems?
It is quite evident that most of the problems witnessed in the society have outweighed organizations run by government in combating these behaviors. Therefore it is not possible for the two to work jointly.
My study has revealed that the information of the article peer reviewed are a true reflection of mystery existing in relation to the faith based organizations and government based organizations. The message they convey if revised could be compatible to current state of society.
Discussion
The study on faith based organizations is incapacitated by shortcomings of the methodology. It has not used numerous indicators in regulating measurement errors. The study has not put into right use the testing reliability.
Reflection
The research methods used in the article have facilitated mu deep understanding in research methodologies.
