Proposal for Engineering Manufacturing Equipment
Machines are very important components of the factory set up. They normally make work easier and make people achieve their desired goals in their work place. There are different categories of machines with different functions within a given factory set up. Machines normally makes work easier and makes the means of production to be faster and high yield of products than relying on the slow pace of the human operation.
The equipment manufacturing industry in other term refers to the floorboard of the manufacturing industry, this kind of equipment normally provides technical aide for the sake of the national and security at large, including seven categories of the equipment and their common use in the factories, these includes like the case of the metal products equipment, general equipment normally for general use within the factory or in the workplace, special equipment, transportation equipment for transport and transit of goods and other valuable factory goods and services, electrical equipment, electronics and communication equipment that aide in relaying information to various clients and factory members in general, instruments and cultural office.
The equipment do help uplift the status of a given country due to the fact that it provides high yield in terms of processing rate and also provides employment opportunities to the people. The company’s must get the skilled labor from the local in order to operate the machines. This reduces the level of unemployment in a given country.
Computer numerical control machines are automated milling machines that make industrial components without direct control by human. They operate through a set of coded instructions sent from an internal computer and execute a command to the machine to fabricate parts accurately and swiftly without or minimal defects. These computer numeric control machines are commonly used industrially in manufacturing sector. Every university is set to produce qualified and competent engineers in the manufacturing field and thus measures have to be put in place to ensure such students are aware and are capable of using such machines. Universities should ensure they equip their labs with the relevant manufacturing computer numerical control machines to enable production of the set designs. Some of the advanced computer numerical control machines that can be used in the university include milling machines and grinders.
A tool grinder does the role of shaping and finishes various types of metal tools, parts, and equipment in the labs. These modern tool grinders are responsible for programming, operating and maintaining factory equipment. Though some complicated and delicate jobs must be performed by hand, a tool grinder need to adept at sculpting, filling, and polishing metal parts with assistance from hand tools that is operator. The operator goes ahead to perform inspection on the finished parts, tools and equipment to ensure they are correctly built.
A milling machine is commonly used in metalworking factories. The milling machine shapes solid products by eliminating excess material to come up with a finished item. Milling machines are used for complex cutting operations such as slot cutting, threading, and rabbeting to routing, and drilling. It also serves the purpose of die sinking, which is shaping a steel block to serve various functions such as molding plastics. A milling machine has the capability of cutting variety of metals from aluminum to steel. When cutting softer materials the machine is set at higher speeds and slower speeds for harder materials as it requires lesser amounts of material to be milled.
A milling machine operator feeds the material over a device called a milling cutter. The cutter’s teeth slices through the material to form the desired shape immediately the material is fed past the cutter. The cut can be made exact by making the movement of the cutter to less than 0.025 millimeters by use of gadgets like precision ground slice and lead screws. It also contains a spindle axis that holds the cutter in place. Most machines come with a worktable that is used to support and feed the material; the modern worktables are power-operated. These modern milling machines are also equipped with self-contained electric drive motor and a coolant system.
Milling machines are of various sizes, that is; from micro, mini and bench top to floor standing, large and gigantic. They too come in variety of shapes that is; flat, angular, curved or irregular surfaces. They can have either a vertical or horizontal orientation .A vertical milling machine has its spindles axis placed vertically while that of a horizontal machine is placed horizontally. Modern milling machine is operated digitally using a computer numerical control. A modern milling machine comprises of two additional axes in addition to the traditional X, Y and Z axes. The extra axes allows for greater flexibility and more precision. The advantage of the modern milling machines eliminates the need of a machine operator thus saves greatly on costs and exposure to accidents.
