Critique
The article’s conclusion is that each birth complication occurs in a similar way for all women. Furthermore, the article makes some assumptions that make the conclusion null and void. According to the article, birth complications occur independently and would be treated using the same procedure. However, in reality, there are serious cases where women experience more than one birth complication. This article does not explain how these scenarios can be handled. Furthermore, multiple birth complications often occur on subsequent pregnancies, which put the mother at risk. The article only focuses on four birth complications yet there are over 10 birth complications. Every birth complication, however minor, must be addressed. This article does not address unique cases of multiple birth complications. However, the complications that are addressed in the article have been well explained and contribute positively to the field of birth complications and prenatal care.
Limitations
This article only focuses on four birth complications yet there are over twelve kinds of birth complications. Therefore, it limits the reader to just a few options. The article does not expound on unique scenarios where mothers experience more than one birth complications. This makes the article misleading because in most cases, mothers face more than one birth complication. Finally, this article does not give the statistics of the frequency and numbers of incidents of these birth complications. This makes it difficult to tell which the most common birth complication is.

The author also writes about the causes and treatment methods of the discussed complications. Readers can then be able to identify each complication through its characteristics and they can seek appropriate help whenever necessary. The medical expert would then conduct appropriate procedures to rectify the problem. This would apply for all the birth complications because the article gives sufficient information on every complication.
