Introduction
Today we will focus on two powerful, unwavering currents that are absolutely at odds with each other. The action for legal acknowledgement of same sex union has gone above the split, but equal position of civil unions to require equality in marriage for all partners. Improvement is being made on many ways: mayoral measures, local clergy who administer same sex marriage and ceremonies, responses of state legislative, and those that protests on the street. On the other hand, oppositions to same sex marriage are also gathering strength. The challenge is certain to proceed unabated, the gap between those who believe in the standard meaning of marriage that it is a partnership of man and woman against those who find that marriage is a basis of two loving, dedicated individuals not just in the background of civil rights legislation and decisions of court, but also in religious traditions and scripture. Those who consider same sex marriage seek to improve the institution of marriage by doing legal guidelines and increasing doctrines to support marriage rights for all partners.
Same Sex Marriages should be Legalized
Not accepting them is disregarding religious freedom. The primary reason for not accepting same sex marriages is that most religions look at homosexuality a sin; on the other hand, the Constitution that was modified certainly states that an individual's religious belief or absence of it needs to be secured. Marriage by the state is considered a secular activity. Our government will not make laws only because a religion ordered them to do so.
Benefits of marriage like medical decision making and mutual ownership should be obtainable by all couples. Marriage is known to be more than of a legal status. It impacts a lot of things in our society including tax filing, mutual ownership of properties and insurance benefits. It also affects crucial medical decisions. For instance, if one of the gay couple that is together for 10 years gets seriously sick, they may not be permitted to visit or may not be permitted to decide on medical issues because they are not regarded as husband or wife. It is absolutely unfair to refuse these rights to people just because their relationship is not acceptable by the state's definition.
Homosexuality nowadays is a recognized lifestyle that strongly supports biological causation. Homosexuality has been regarded a way of deviant sexual behavior. Those people making that judgement should read the history books and study psychological research. All through our history from the ancient Greece, there have been homosexual relationships. A lot of research showed that homosexuality is a biological one not a genetic one. Let us consider gays and lesbians that we have seen, most times, some sexual features look like the opposite sex. Basically, homosexual males typically have softer voices. Those lesbians may have stronger cheekbones and masculine shape. It is actually impacted by hormone switches. There will be strange situations where individuals experiment various types of sex, and we cannot just instruct people to be gay or not for life.
Not accepting same sex marriages is a kind of discrimination. It was established in this country that the majority must be implemented, and ensure that minority rights need to be secured. Not accepting same sex marriage is like not accepting marriage to black couples.
It will not harm society or anybody in particular. A marriage is a romantic relationship involving two people; it is a personal commitment that is no one else's business. So how will it harm society not involved in the marriage? People should not be dictating what partners can or cannot do especially when no one is harmed. If a particular group or the church disapproves, it’s their right, but stopping it is not their right.
The only factor that is essential in marriage is love. They marry because they love each other. It is a commitment that says I want to spend the rest of my life living with you, only death will separate us. It makes a difference if couples do not suit into what society is accustomed to. A lot of people discuss legal contracts that will provide equal rights to homosexuals’ couples. Having said that, why don't heterosexual couples use this legal concept as a substitute to marriage?
Same sex marriage may wish for a family. Considering that these couples cannot have kids obviously, this will probably increase the need to adopt. This is a good thing since there are a lot of kids in need of adoption. Nevertheless, others considered that a kid rose in a same sex marriage do not grow essentially. At this point, evidence is inconclusive given that same sex adoptions are not widespread.
It motivates individuals to have strong family values. One of several misunderstandings against same sex marriage is that it will deteriorate family values; nevertheless, the contrary is correct. The issue related to sexuality such as STD’s originates from carefree, frequent, unsecured sex with numerous partners. Marriage induces people to give up that lifestyle and settle down. Isn't that the kind of behavior we want to build?
In recent economic environment, it usually takes two incomes to live. They share rent and other bills, which are generally tough for one person to shoulder alone. A married couple can usually support each other financially when times get difficult, like when one of the two is out of job. The other can go on pay the bills until the other gets back his job. Having your own house is often impossible without another person to help financially.
Conclusion
Historically in this country, marriage is described as a religious or spiritual and legal commitment involving man and woman, and also the greatest expression of love. Same sex relationships are progressively gaining acceptance from our society; nonetheless, these couples are not permitted to marry. Some states have already considered a new type of commitment known as "civil union," which basically is marriage, but avoiding the word "marriage". Some politicians have mentioned they are in opposition to same sex marriage, but it should be the states to come to a decision. However, the Constitution states that if one state creates a law that should also be recognized by other states. Therefore, if one state permitted gay marriage and that couple transfers to another state that state must acknowledge that marriage. This effect will permit same sex marriage legal in the whole country. A lot of areas in the United States like San Francisco have been conducting marriage ceremonies in refusal to obey the law. Therefore, my stand is same sex marriage should be legalized in the entire country.
