Introduction
Abdallah Azzam Brigade, also known as AAB is an Islamist terrorist outfit. This terrorist group is said to have a connection with terrorist group al Qaeda and several other terrorist groups operating from different parts of the world. AAB is said to start its terrorist operations from the year 2009. This terrorist group became terribly infamous in the year 2010 when it attacked M/VM Star, a Japanese oil tanker in the Hormuz strait. This terrorist group keeps trying to hamper the interests of western countries in the region of Middle East and at other places, wherever it can. This paper intends to discuss the terrorist organization and several other related aspects of this organization.
Abdallah Azam Brigade
This organization was shaped by Saleh al Qaraawi on the soil of Lebanon. Abdallah Azam Brigade was named behind the man who co founded al Qaeda and also known as mento of Osama bin laden. Qaraawi, a Saudi national established this terrorist outfit to operate in the Middle East region with an intention to hit western interests in the Middle East. Qaraawi, one of the most dangerous terrorists of the world and comes up new innovative ideas to commit heinous attacks on the people of west. Abdallah Azam Brigade forms different brigades to complete its mission and sabotage its targets. This organization sends these brigades where they think that Islam is in danger or to hit their targets of their interests. This terrorist outfit has very good connections, not only in the Middle East region but also in a number of countries across the world.
Ideology, base and operations of AAB
Radical Islamist views are the main ideas of this terrorist outfit and the people, who shaped this organization, intended to make it as a jihadist organization. AAB has always worked for their religious goals and in order to remove difficulties in the way of their religious goals. Abdallah Azam Brigade recruits Muslim youths from across the world and after brainwashing them sends to different terror missions. AAB has strong links all over the world and operates on the fingers of their al Qaeda bosses. AAB shares strong relation with Pakistan’s terrorist outfit, Tehrik- e- Taliban. AAB with the help of its ally has committed some horrifying incidents in the Pakistan including Peshawar attacks. AAB through its committed suicide bombers has killed some eminent people as well as attacked several foreigners in the Pakistan.
AAB has a strong presence in the Middle East region and organization keeps targeting the foreigners and places that belong to the western nations. The terrorist organization has its base in the Middle East but they have a large list of friends and those who has sympathy with this outfit. AAB apart from Middle East, operate from other countries as well. They have different organizations in different names that assist AAB in their operations. The rocket attack of 2005 in Jordan on an American warship was also claimed by this terrorist outfit. The suicide bombers killed a number of people in Gaza strip, Persian Gulf and Syrian region. This organization has attacked Israeli people with rocket launcher and missiles. Hundreds of civilians lost their lives in these attacks. Credit for the Bombings of Sharm el sheikh and taba were also claimed by the AAB as reported by Jerusalem times.
Modus operandi and communication methods of AAB
The organization operates in a strategic and ultra deadliest manner. The members of this group are audacious and do not care in removing any thing that comes in their way of achieving their goals. If their missions are observed it becomes clear that they believe in ultra violent methods of achieving their goals. After committing their mission, they claim credit to the incident and admit their involvement in the incident. The organization informs media houses through their members secretly. After every major incident, the group has admitted its involvement in the incident.
Strength of AAB
The organization has a substantial supporter base that is ready to take lives of others and also can give lives whenever needed. A number of incidents suggest the organization’s indulgence in several incidents of suicide attack. The brigade has its own style of operating and their style of working is aggressive. People who work with this organization render their services voluntarily and are very devoted to the goals of the organization. The volunteers believe in the ideology of jihad and can do anything in order to follow the guidelines of their seniors.
It is believed that this terrorist group is equipped with lethal weapons. The members are equipped with latest and delicate weapons. Apart from having latest weapons, members are trained in such a fanatic way that they are always ready to die as well kill anybody in the name of their religious beliefs. Suicide bombers are also a part of this organization and used in order to achieve some specific and hard targets. Members are trained very rigorously, exercise and shooting practice is a regular and must thing for them.
Designated as foreign terrorist organization
The organization has been on the radar of several European nations and America. Categorizing this organization has been widely welcomed by a number of nations though people related to the organization that it is not going to affect their goals, workings and interests in any way. Intelligence agencies of some nations are probing about the funding of this organization but not any accurate information is obtained regarding the funding. It is anticipated that this organization is indulged in the trades of drugs. According to other sources the organization is funded by the organizations who believe in their way. Several crimes also contribute in the funding of this terrorist outfit.
After having observed the abovementioned detailed analysis of the Abdallah Azam brigade, it is good to say that this terrorist organization has emerged as one of the most dangerous terrorist outfits. AAB keeps an eye on all the incidents of the world and plans their strategy according to the situation. The organization is becoming a threat to the world as its involvement in several incidents has been proved and admitted by the organization itself. AAB has started spreading its activities and now it also participates in political activities through their tested method of violence. It is said that recent problems of Syria are propelled by the brains of AAB. Syria is facing a series of violent incidents and thousand of human lives have been lost in this ongoing political yet violent struggle. The group is spreading its wings and its friends are present at several parts of the worlds that are helping in spreading them.
