Introduction
The phrase “time capsule” was invented in 1937. The main significance of the phrase was to communicate with human beings in the future about a particular date. Nowadays, the phrase is used to describe intentional and unintentional discoveries. Intentional discoveries have meaning anchored to definite dates and times while unintentional discoveries define items that may not be defined on the dates and times that they occurred. San Diego , which is the largest city in California enjoys adverse time capsules which are used to mark various moments for the city.
General Dynamics Astronautics Time Capsule (1963)
The booklet 2063 A.D was published by General Dynamics Astronautics and it was put into a time capsule in the month of July in 1963. It consists of predictions that were made by scientists, astronauts, politicians, and military commanders on the situation of space exploration in the year 2063. This time capsule has been located on the west ramp entry to the General Dynamics Astronautics. This is a facility at 5001 Kearny Villa Road, in San Diego, California.
This capsule is aimed at encouraging in the United States. It has been a significant element in the motivation for the extensive inventions that are taking place in the nation.
Burglars of the Future (1910)
This is a time capsule that has been placed in San Diego. It was developed in September 10, 1910 in the New York Tribune. This Time capsule aims at defining the future of the rooftop burglars. The capsule has an outstanding definition of the future of airplanes. American scientists define the future and foresee the time when roofs must be saved as carefully as any part of a house. This article has remained significant in New York as it acts as timeline definition of how improvements have been taking place in roofing (Keats, 2011).
San Diego County Bar Assn. Time Capsule
The San Diego County Bar Assn. Time Capsule is situated inside the entry to the Old Town Courthouse Museum. This time capsule was located under the cornerstone in the year 1999 to remember the Centennial of the San Diego County Bar Assn. The opening of the capsule is scheduled in 2050. However, the capsule has been registered with the International Time Capsule Society (Metro, 2011).
The time Capsule contains artifacts and several historical documents. The capsule predicts that the law has to be begun over another time and it is predicted that before the time that the capsule shall be opened the court house will have changed in an extremely overwhelming manner.
Rancho Bernardo Community Time Capsule
This is a time capsule that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Rancho Bernardo hamlet of San Diego. The time capsule is located in San Diego in the United States of America. Rancho Bernado is business community dealing with the retirement and business among individuals in San Diego. This time capsule was buried together with various elements that were suggested by residents of the community and it is buried beneath a granite plaque in Webb Park. It was sealed on 22nd September 2012 and should be opened on 22nd September Webb Park is situated Bernardo Center in San Diego (Quest, 2013).
The Time Capsule is significant in ensuring that retirement benefits will remain fruits of one’s commitment to certain place of work for a long time that he or she would have worked in a given community. This means that every community should ensure it extends a hand of gratitude to former employees even after they retire from the job.
Burbank Time Capsule
This is an extremely small time capsule compared to adverse others which are extremely big. This is a 50 year old newspaper clipping above describes a silver-plated lead capsule that contained 35-mm films. The capsule was situated San Diego, California when it was constructed in 1959 and was required to be opened after 50 years. The Capsule was stored together with 47 photos of the city and predictions of what life would be in 2009. The city was hoped to have had extensively improved form of living for the citizens of the city (Chong, 2009).
The capsule was significant in the sense that it was an outstanding hope and pave way for development of the city s that once it was compared with any past moment there would have been some improvements.
Westinghouse Time Capsules
The Westinghouse Time Capsules consists of two time capsules that were put in place by Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company. The two capsules were constructed with the aim of improving trade fair in California. The two capsules are located at San Diego and are supposed to be opened in 6939. This is approximately 5000 years after the sealing of the first capsule. The latest capsule contained some message from Einstein that his time was rich of inventions, which would considerably the lives of the entire globe.
The Capsule will serve an extremely significant role in enhancing innovations in the society. It will be a platform to eight the existence to which inventions in the United States the lives of people in the entire world.
Helium Centennial Time Columns
In 1968, four time capsule were sealed in Amarillo Texas honoring the 100th anniversary of unearthing of helium. Amarillo remains a center of activities related to helium for a long period of time. However, since the spirit of trade was to be spread in the entire community in the United States, one Helium Centennial Time Column was sealed at San Diego, California. The column was to be opened after 100 year. It was sealed in 1968. There was the significance of trade and development that was being enhanced through matching natural resources to development (QuesterMark, 2007).
The significance of this time Capsule is to ensure there was concrete relationship between development in the society and the richness in natural resources. This is an indication that before the capsule was opened the United States must have undertaken extensive steps in terms of industrial development.
KEO Satellite
KEO is the name that was proposed for a space time capsule that was launched in 2011. Previously, there have been capsules of earth’s existence that will be sent into space but the uniqueness of the KEO Satellite is that it is anticipated to come back after 50000 years. The KEO project was thought of a French artist in 1994. However, the KEO project was not to be sealed in France. It was sealed in San Diego. The main reason for this was to motivate extensive thoughts that would encourage innovations (Keo, 2007).
Therefore, the significance of the Time Capsule was to enhance exploration among human beings. The KEO Project was expected to explore the space and bring forth proper understanding of the world beyond the earth.
Malaguerra Winery
The original 1869 portion of the Mala-Guerra Winery complex is one of the oldest remaining winery buildings in San Diego in California. This structure remains to mark the time that Mala-Guerra became busy in the production of nationally known wines. However, most of the winery buildings have been replaced. There are even plans of renovating these structures into a wine museum, where it should be brought back to how it appeared in 1904 (Silverquill, 2013).
The Time Capsule is significant in showing how innovations have been extremely significant in ensuring development and creativity that led to development of wine and maintenance of structures used during this time. This shows that the United States has extensive innovators who may be able to sustain dreams for an extremely long time.
Wreckage of the Oakland and Berkeley hills
This is a Time Capsule for 1992. It represents the destruction that engulfed the United States through Oakland and Berkely hills. This photo was taken by Richard Misrach to mark disaster that engulfed California. He stored the pictures away from traumatized situations. These were representation of situations that engulfed the United States in terms of destruction and extensive losses (Rosenbierg, 2013).
The significance was this is to keep the society well aware of the how costly some ill activities such may be and should be avoided fully. There should be no room for war in the the world. Every associate of the society should aim at ensuring his or her neighbor is equal and safe from any form of insecurity that may be posed by a neighbor or any member of the society.
