Intergenerational Handbook
Nowadays most companies face the same problem - the difference between the Baby Boomers and the Millennials among its employees. One of the main distinctions between these two groups is the use of technology. While Baby Boomers use touch tone phones and are still learning new things in technology, their counterparts - the Millennials - are already actively using smartphones, the Internet, text messages, and social networks .
“Millennials are creating a change in how work gets done, as they work more in teams and use more technology.” . This proves the fact that the use of technology is really changing the workplace. Thus, the Millennials are the ones who use the technology and, as a result, lead to all the changes in a way things are done in a company.
Another example that technology is what distinguishes the Baby Boomers from the Millennials is expressed in the article by Rodney G. Snow. The author write about the situation that happened in his workplace between a Baby Boomer and a Millennial. The Baby Boomer asked the Millennial to come to his office to get an address, but the Millennial asked him just to email it. The Baby Boomer then replied that he/she didn’t know how to .
