The main objective of this design document paper is to give a clear cloud technology and visualization implementation process for the company. First, cloud technology is a style of computing whereby non-static scalable and most visualized company resources are provide in service form over the internet. Therefore, it is compulsory for such companies to have expertise knowledge so as to run effectively the technology in the cloud that properly supports them. The general concept of cloud technology and visualization integrates technologies that depend absolutely on the on the internet as the common theme for meeting the companies' computing needs particularly to the merged companies which similar to this case. Usually, cloud technology and visualization provide online applications that are utilized through the web browsers while the data and the software are maintained on the server (Bento, & Aggarwal, 2013).
The need for cloud technology and visualization
Generally, cloud technology focuses and builds on the developed trends for pushing out the cost of the delivery services while at the same time ensuring an increased speed with which the companies or organizations offer services to their customers (Bidgoli, 2010). It has reduced the duration taken in designing out application architecture for the actual implementation. In fact, the visualization aspect makes the system cheaper concerning implementation. With visualization, cloud computing technology flexibility is further increased since the system hardware is abstracted to an extent where the software components can then be installed and uninstalled with no necessity of by fixed to a specific or particular internet server (Bento, & Aggarwal, 2013). Therefore, cloud technology and visualization offer the organization a dynamic databases or datacenters in which the server gives a resource pool that is tapped for use as required. The system also provides a rapidly changing relationship between computing applications, network, and data storage resources so as to meet the workload and the needs of the business. In general, cloud technology and visualization offers the company the following benefits;
Increased flexibility
Cloud technology and visualization is appropriate for developing company known with changing demand bandwidth. With visualization, when the need of the company increases such due to the merging of the company, it becomes easy to adjust the scale size of the cloud capacity.
Work from anywhere
With cloud technology and visualization and well internet connection, the company staff can work anywhere even out of the premise. The business will, therefore, offer more flexible working conditions and schedule to their employees and this will enable them to enjoy a balance of work-life that will favor their needs and interests without interference with the productivity of the organization.
Increased collaboration among the staff and the merged companies
Working team can easily get access and work on the business documents at any moment. This is possible through the use of cloud-based work channeling and sharing of documents applications. The system will also allow the working staff to make a real-time update of the document and offer full complete visibility of their collaborations.
Increased data security
With the cloud technology and visualization, the company will always have their data stored in the cloud (internet) which will be accessed still regardless of what may happen to the company's database machines. In fact, in the case of lost machines, the data can still be remotely wiped to void it entering into a wrong hand.
Increased competitiveness
Use of cloud technology will offer a company access to the technology, which is of an enterprise-class in nature. The technology provides the small businesses to develop faster than the already established competitors who only use locally based computing system.
Cost saving in hardware infrastructure
The main reason why most organizations have changed from using the olden traditional information technology infrastructures to cloud technology and visualization is the cost saving aspect of the later system (Bento, & Aggarwal, 2013). It is always referred to as the economics of cloud computing. To assess the cost saving infrastructure, some major distinct mechanisms through cost saving is realized must be as well looked into details. These include reduction of the opportunity cost of the working technology, which allows change from capital expenditure to operating expenditure. Also, it lowers the cost of technology ownership and it offers the company or the organization the power to boost business index value through renewed focus only on the major activities.
Even though it is a fact that every organization pays premium per unit for the use of cloud technology and visualization to suspend their services, the total cost of company owning and operating its own IT infrastructure assets is by far much higher as depicted in the table below (table adapted from O'Reilly Media, George Reese)
Possible reduction of human capital through use of cloud technology and visualization
For this case, monthly labor is considered in the calculation of reduction in human capital
Cost reduction = { (Cost of Local IT +Cost of Service Managed)-cost of cloud technology and visualization}
= {($3300+$500)-$2500}
= {$3800-$2500}
=$1300
In percentage form $13003800x 100=34.2%
Therefore, the deployment of cloud technology and visualization is likely to enable the company to reduce human capital cost by around 34.2%
Recommendation
Therefore, it is believed that there are many significant economic returns or profits to be realized by organizations adopting and deploying cloud technology and visualization. The profits may come to the company in two distinctly different ways such as indirectly by providing for increased focus on the major function of the business and directly from reduced cost on the company’s core assets including human capital investment cost. It is recommended that the organizations should take more consideration and view at the wider benefits of cloud technology and visualization and to effect more than just on the pure economics of saving such as a better competitive edge in the respective industry.
