- What is the relationship between employee welfare and employee output?
According to , the lack of employee welfare has led to low performance and job satisfaction among members of the National Police Service in Kenya. The journal article has also pointed out various Police Services around the world namely Ghana and India and how the welfare services put in place have affected the output of the officers. In my research I will seek to find out whether this relationship actually exists or may the output be as a result of other factors like salary and allowances.
Research carried out on the police service in India has shown a great relationship between employee welfare and output . Employee welfare in the police service in India is provided for by the law. As a result, the officers have good welfare services like access to healthcare and social security. The police In India are therefore very effective in carrying out their duties. I seek to find out by what extent increasing the welfare of employees can increase their output. Some forms of welfare might be more effective than others.
- What is the role of trade unions in improving employee welfare?
Trade unions are seen in many parts of the world as important in improving the employees’ welfare. In some countries, they are very influential to their members and are recognized by the law. In other countries, however, they run as illegal organizations. They have from time to time being used by the political elite to achieve their goals. In my research I will seek to find out how influential these organizations have been in improving employee welfare both in the past and in the present in various countries.
