It is a well-known fact that if a person wants to be healthy, it is necessary for him/her to take exercise and eat healthy food. Consequently, people always associate sports with health. However, only a few knows that work out not only improves health, but may cause some serious illnesses. One of them is rhabdomyolysis, often called rhabdo. It is a rare health condition, which can be detected by certain signs and symptoms and should be treated as soon as it noticed.
The primary cause of rhabdo is exercising very intensively. To be more precise, the injury to skeletal muscle causes this illness (Muscal). The typical symptoms of rhabdo are myalgias, weakness, and darkened urine. If a person after the workout feels these symptoms, he/she should go to the emergency room immediately. Individuals who take exercises very intensively should pay attention to what they eat and drink, namely nutrition. The reason for it is hidden in the causes of rhabdo. Professionals say that alcohol use, prescribed medication, and illicit drug use, metabolic disorders as well as disorders are the causes of rhabdomyolysis (Muscal). The symptoms mentioned above are not the only signals of rhabdo. Other signs of the condition are the muscular pain, the swelling of soft tissue, and skin changes. Rhabdo should be treated as soon as possible as it has serious complications, such as renal failure, compartment syndrome, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and some others.
