The stakeholders who were present at the event were the organizers, festivalgoers, and musicians. The organizers took the initiative of organizing the big event but failed in their organizing role thus leading to chaos. For instance, they did not provide enough space to cater for all the people who came to the event. This is because there was a big crowd which could not be held by the space provided. There was no enough space for escape in case of any emergency causing a security threat to the clients. Besides, they did not provide enough resources to cater for the festivalgoers. For instance, there were no enough water supplies something that resulted forced the organizers to hike the price of the resource. Finally, there was no security measures set aside to overcome emergencies such as fire outbreak in the event. Also, the organizers failed to provide enough security to handle riots that led eventually led to fire blaze which posed a danger to the crowd.
Risk Assessment
Lack of space in the event leading to overcrowding posed a risk on injuries and escape difficulties in case of any emergency. It was the initiative of the organizers and the authority to provide enough space for the people who attended the event because many people were to attend. Besides, lack of enough security personnel to handle riots is another risk that was evident in the case. It is obvious to note that riots in a music concert are very commonly and thus there is the need for the organizers to provide enough security to deal with law breakers and protect the customers. Lack of enough social amenities like water in the event is a health and safety risk which were present in the event. Finally, lack of ready equipment and personnel to handle disasters like fire also lacked in the event something that led to the spread of fire that was lit by those who were rioting.
The risks could harm all the people present in the event including the organizers by one way or the other. This is because there was a poor organization of the event implying that whoever was present in the hall was exposed to these risks discussed above. The attendees of the event could get injured in case of any emergency since there was no enough space. Besides, the organizers would also suffer from the damages caused by those who were rioting. At the same time, lack of enough space could also lead to the strain of the resources something that could lead to damage of property (Holmes 120).
There were few controls to prevent the some of the risks in case of emergency. For instance, the organizers had few security officers whose work was to protect the people during the event and deal with any law breakers. Besides, the organizers had also put in place a few water points to serve the crowd because thirst could be a major issue due to crowding and the actions from the musicians. However, it was important for the organizers to have provided enough security based on the number of the people who attended the event. If this was the case, then the security personnel would overcome the people who were rioting. Besides, the organizers needed to create enough space to do away with the issue of overcrowding as well as providing enough space for the people who attended the event to escape easily thus reducing injuries in case of any emergency.
Finally, it is worth to note that the damage was huge in the event leading to loss of property to the organizers and some of the people who attended the event. Besides, the injuries sustained by the attendees are also another risk that is worrying. As a result, the management of the event is squarely responsible for what happened in the event.
