Sources of Information, which are Important in Risk Identification
Information collection techniques used for risk identification may include Delphi, brainstorming, SWOT analysis, and interviewing (Holmes, 2012). Brainstorming aims to acquire a complete list, which may be addressed in the process of quantitative and qualitative risk analysis. People generate ideas concerning risk, which are posted for all to scrutinize (Holmes, 2012).
Delphi technique is a means of reaching consensus of experts on a subject matter, for example, project risk (Holmes, 2012). Project risk experts are identified and do participate anonymously. Questionnaires are used to seek ideas on the potential risks. Risks may as well be recognized through interviewing subject experts or project managers (Holmes, 2012). Besides, SWOT analysis can be used to ensure assessment of the project from every SWOT’s perspectives or viewpoints to increase the scope of the risk considered.
Control of Risk in Emergency Services
First, considering what may occur and how alarm may be raised not forgetting shifts, night working, weekends, and holidays. It is important to sketch what to do, including how to get to the emergency services. This may be achieved by marking location from the road or sketching a simple map showing location of harmful substances.
Second, deciding where to get a safety place or rescue tools. Moreover, making sure there are adequate emergency doors for all and sundry to escape. This is possible by always keeping emergency doors and getaway routes passable and visibly marked. Additionally, it is wise to appoint people to take control.
Lastly, planning necessary actions, such as, tragedy plant shutdown, seclusion, or developing safe processes. It is also advisable to train everybody on emergency procedures and needs of people with disabilities must not be assumed. Work must not resume after a disaster if a severe danger remains.
