The risk stratification of an individual basically takes the following three factors into account:
- The presence or absence of known cardiovascular, pulmonary and/or metabolic disease.
- The presence or absence of signs or symptoms that indicate cardiovascular, pulmonary, and/or metabolic disease.
- The presence or absence of risk factors that can lead to cardiovascular disease.
Those men and women who do not suffer from any known cardiovascular, pulmonary and/or metabolic disease or main symptoms that indicate such disorders and have one or no CVD risk factor are in the low risk category. Moderate risk implies to those who are asymptomatic men and women but have two or more than two CVD risk factors. Those who suffer from any known cardiovascular, pulmonary and/or metabolic disease and/or symptomatic along with one or more CVD risk factor are in the high risk category
Overall Risk Stratification:
E.E does not suffer from any known Cardiovascular, Pulmonary and/or Metabolic diseases. He is not having any major symptoms of these diseases either. But he does show several risk factors. Also, he has a stressful life and unusual working hours. To add it, his diet is not healthy at all. That is why he is in the moderate risk category. Medication, physical activities and regular medical advice can be of great help to E.E for lowering the risk.
Overall Risk Stratification:
J.J is in high risk category because of suffering from so many CVrisk factors, along with a known metabolic disorder as well as some symptoms that indicate CV, Pulmonary and/or Metabolic diseases. Though he has started living a physically active life and also abstains from alcohol and tobacco but still, he suffers from some acute symptoms that require regular treatment and a very healthy lifestyle.
