Abortion can be referred to as a procedure that terminates pregnancy which can be done through the use of medicine or through performance of a surgery. The procedure can be done legally or illegally and it is a very personal decision. However, terminating pregnancy or what is better referred to as abortion is an illegal undertaking unless done under special instructions made by a licensed health care practitioner. Those that back up abortion argue that, abortion is a right which no one should be denied or regulated by the government nor any religious entity. The proponents of abortion argue that if the women are not granted the right to perform abortion legally, they will at time opt for unsafe illegal termination of pregnancy. The opponents of abortion state that life starts at conception and termination of pregnancy is equivalent infringing pain to the unborn baby and regard it as an immoral killing of an innocent human being; it should therefore never be allowed. The debate as to whether to legalize abortion or not heightened after the 22nd January, 1973; the US Supreme Court’s judgment on Roe vs. Wade announcement that abortion is a fundamental right. Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973 is unjust and abortion is immoral.
The act of terminating pregnancy is immoral as the unborn children are human beings immediately after conception who have the right to stay alive. The unborn babies possess the fundamental right to live and hence their right to live should be respected and hence protected just like any other life human being. Terminating pregnancy is like killing the unborn baby. It should be treated like any other murder case in a court of law. The US Supreme court decision to term it “a fundamental right” is illegal, unjust and unacceptable. The act of terminating pregnancy is immoral killing of a fellow human being. Even from a religious point of view, abortion entails killing a human being hence going against a commandment from God “Thou shalt not to kill” (The Holy Bible, Exodus 20:13). From the Bible teachings, the sixth commandment directs Christians not to kill. When a woman is pregnant, it means that there is a life reining in her. When making a decision to have sex she had in mind the possibility of a pregnancy happening. It is therefore up to the woman to know that she carries life with her and should do everything to ensure that the unborn baby is alive till it is born. Terminating pregnancy is like the act of practically killing a human being who is alive. It is unjust and immoral to kill an unborn baby or in more clear terms, terminating pregnancy is like killing.
Permitting abortion directly goes against the founding fathers’ aim to have an unalienable right to life in the nation of United states of America. The pronouncement of independence states that every citizen has the right equality. Every person is endowed by their creator with definite unalienable rights. Among the rights stated in this clause of declaration of independence is the right to live, quest for happiness as well as the liberty. According to his clause of declaration of independency, it is therefore clear that every human being has the right to live, liberty as well as the right live happily. An unborn child is considered a human being immediately after conception. Abortion terminates the life of the unborn baby immaturely. Abortion denies the unborn baby the right to live, pursue happiness as well as the right to live a life full of liberty according to the American Constitution declaration after the American Independency. It is the right of every American citizen to safeguard and obey the nation’s constitution. Allowing abortion infringes the some of the clauses in the American constitution after the declaration of independency. It allows people to what they wish irrespective of whether it is just and moral. A true American citizen should fight for the constitution that was formed after the declaration of independence. A true and loyal American citizen should always act to ensure that the constitution is safeguarded and protected according to the will of the founding fathers of the nation. Going as per the wishes of the founding fathers of America makes the decision in the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court unjust d reinstates that abortion is Immoral.
Abortion disregards the probable societal contributions of a forthcoming human being race. The future of the United States as a nation would be shuttered if abortion was the chosen choice for majority of the American citizens. If the mothers of the super power nation decided to allow abortion, then the heroes, the great presidents such as President Barrack Obama as well as scientists, athletes and other heroes and heroines would be only in writing if abortion was adopted. This way the future generation existence is compromised given that a number of abortion have been allowed to place. With time abortion will proof to be a forgotten issue if each and every citizen embraced and took care of themselves and avoided abortion, then there would assurance of a future generation. With abortion the likelihood of coming miscarriages increases abortion incidences. This kills the prospects of the coming nation’s generations in terms of existence since most unborn babies would have been shuttered down through the evil act of abortion. Furthermore abortion raises the chances of being regarded as an opponent of abortion though the fact that abortion raises the opportunities of a lady developing breast cancer. During the earlier steps of pregnancy, the level of estrogen raise and finally resulting into breast development for the purposes of breast feeding. When there occurs instances of the level of estrogen increasing in the body’s risk exposure to breast exposure. To avoid breast cancer exposure, abortion is discouraged. Also it has been determined that interrupted pregnancies will lead into unwanted pregnancies, which is against the global level of tolerated pregnancies level. Reduced instances of pregnancies and the extend of the women developing breast cancer resistant encourages the availability measures to curb chances of increasing abortion through better methods such as medical mitigation to reduce abortion.
On the other abortion can proof to be the best way out for some people. Access to legal abortion reduces the chances of injury as well as death as a result of performing illegal and unsafe abortion. As much as abortion is illegalized, there are instances where some people engage in abortion activities illegally. As result of the illegal abortion there occurs injuries as well as death to some of the women who are involved. In the year 2006 alone illegal abortion is estimated to have caused approximately 68000 deaths every year in the nations where abortion was not legal. If abortion was legalized a good number of these deaths would been saved from taking place. Citing these statistics, a number of opponents backing up legalization of abortion argue that the number of deaths as a result of abortion would be significantly reduced if abortion was legal. Basing that a number of women prefer abortion and the number of abortion cases is going up, the proponents of abortion would be glad if abortion was legalized.
In conclusion, Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973 terming abortion as a “fundamental right” is unjust and abortion is immoral. The act of terminating pregnancy is immoral as the unborn children are human beings immediately after conception who have the right to stay alive. Permitting abortion directly goes against the founding fathers’ aim to have an unalienable right to life in the nation of United states of America. As much as access to legal abortion reduces the chances of injury as well as death as a result of performing illegal and unsafe abortion, the act of abortion should never be legalized. It should rather be condemned and never have a chance in our society.
