Degree objective: Nursing
Nothing has always been so beatifying to me than helping my community and the world at large. However, when I was smidge 7 years old, my interest shifted to a nursing career following a visit to a local hospital with one of my childhood friends who dislocated his knee joint while we were playing hopscotch. I was particularly filled with sublime emotion seeing how the nurse was tremendously pivotal in helping Jack stand on his feet again. From inside, I felt that nursing was the correct career path for me. This prompted me do an “uninformed” research about the profession by asking my parents, family friends and relatives about the profession only to find that there was an insatiable shortage of nurses worldwide; an appetence that is yet to be mollified heretofore. This further deepened my wish to take this all-important societal role. This has always governed me in terms of subject choices especially in high school.
I am an academically versatile individual who is interested in the nursing profession, not because of its stipendiary nature, but because of the ancillary role that nurses play in helping the society. My desire to read any written material touching on any topic has made me very knowledgeable in a plethora of topics. As one of my high school teachers would describe me; I am an overly forward minded student. I attended Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School where my illustrious patient, open minded, honest, and sincere attributes warranted my holding helm class position ever since my admission into the school until my graduation in 2005. Further, my exemplary communication skill and allegiance to team play capacitated my holding a plethora of leadership positions at Central Montgomery Center for Technical Studies while pursuing a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate between 2004 and 2005- my communication skills enable communicate with all and sundry with much ease. Out of academics, I find pleasure offering voluntary services- when I find time, I mostly offer voluntary services to children’s homes.
I am presently attending Montgomery County Community College for Nursing. However, it is my only wish to obtain a degree from a renowned nursing school. I am looking forward to working in a region experiencing acute nursing shortage. In the long term, I envision having a Master Degree in nursing and establishing healthcare center that doubles up as a government recognized training facility for nurses. This in light of my ever-scintillating endeavor to help in ameliorating the shortage of nursing phenomenon.
I am looking forward to getting admission into Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
