Everything in nature is interconnected and people could not live without the surrounding environment. But, being a part of nature, people demonstrate cruel and merciless attitude toward it. Animals play an important role in nature. They are essential not only because they give food and valuable fur, but also because almost all of the animals are really beautiful and interesting.
Cutting down forests or polluting the water in the rivers, many people unwittingly destroy wildlife habitat. Because of the economic human activity and immoderate hunting some animals have disappeared forever, and many others have become rare. Every year there are fewer and fewer wild animals on our planet. And it is easy to understand: the number of the world's population increases and therefore the more people born, the less space for animals to live.
Someone might think that the animals disappear just due to human hunting on them. However, many species disappear from indirect human impact on their lives. The fact that a person involuntarily destroys natural habitat of animals and its feeding areas. Deforestation, plowing the steppes, drying of wetlands, rivers clogged with toxic chemicals, pollution of the seas and the atmosphere also have a negative impact on the animals.
Now it is important to save every kind of animals that nature created over many millions of years. And why it is necessary to save wild, especially rare and endangered animals? The great English scientist Gerald Durrell said: “Our world is complex and vulnerable, like a spider web. Touch a spider web, and all the others tremble. And we do not just touch on the web – we leave a gaping hole in it “ The fauna of the planet is not a random accumulation of various animal species, it is a strict functioning system and the loss of any, even most insignificant component, leads to major changes.
Wild animals really deserves attention and respect. This is the part of the organic world, which is most vulnerable, and although its disappearance still seems impossible but it can happen in a very short time. In today's world there is a real threat of ecological disaster. Unfortunately, not all people are able to understand that the imbalance in nature greatly threatens the health of all humanity. Now everything is in our hands. Everyone should care about the environment, to take all possible measures to restore ecological balance. It is the only way to save our planet.
In this case, the probability of some species extinction, reduction or disappearance of others requires urgent protection measures. Extinct species cannot be recovered, they are forever lost to mankind. However, analysis of the causes of extinction of some species is important to prevent this sad phenomenon in the future. In order to protect the natural balance of our planet we should take care of its flora and fauna from anthropogenic factors. There are a lot of government programs for the protection of animals, which must be followed.
First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the protection of the environment, to protect animal habitats from pollution and destruction. This is the most important and the primary task at the moment. It is also important as soon as possible to eliminate the effects of such kind of human activity as poaching. It is because of poaching many animal species were listed as endangered, and some forever erased from the face of the earth.
In some cases, acclimatization is needed. This is the program of the animals adaptation to new environmental conditions. This may be due to partial or complete destruction of habitats. Therefore, in order to fully protect the animals, it is necessary to preserve the natural landscape. Human activities do not harm the animal or worsen their living conditions.
All kinds of animals are special and unique, and disappearing, they will forever deprive humanity of opportunity to know them better, to observe its life, development, behavior, understand the importance of these species for nature and humans.
Extinct species are forever lost to the biosphere and to humans. It is obvious that for the prediction of the fate of any species we need to know both natural and anthropogenic factors affecting its existence. Only in this way we can hope to reduce the harmful impact with the help of special measures. The problem of extinction factors is a problem that deserves a lot of efforts for its major development. The further development of the theory of evolution is also largely depends on it. And what is more essential is that it can provide us with the theoretical basis of all biological science, on the one hand, and the coverage of a number of important questions of historical geology, on the other.
A healthy environment is a huge economic, aesthetic and ethical values. Maintaining the health of the environment means maintaining a good condition of all its components: ecosystems, communities, species and genetic diversity. Initial minor changes in each of these components may eventually lead to its total destruction.
