There are numerous proven negative effects of consuming marijuana in a medical manner. However, despite the negative effects portrayed the use of marijuana also shows the positive side effects on the same. I cannot dispute the fact that consumption of marijuana though for medical purpose can develop both negative and positive outcome to an individual. In most cases, individuals believe that marijuana has the ability to combat medical ailments, I do agree with that but to some extent it can be proven through scientific research that it is a dangerous drug to be consumed (Gerdes, 24). . There are other existing alternatives for marijuana that are less toxic to the immune system. The heated argument progressively continues to raise questions over legalization of the same.
In addition, it can be considered as a vague conclusion on the benefits of consuming medical marijuana. Moreover, it is argued that marijuana contains a harmful chemical substance and hence should be consumed within a limited period of time to counterpart its long term effects to the patients. Consumption of marijuana triggers mental illness attack to an individual (Gerdes, 26). In this connection, the argument on the consumption of marijuana can cease to certain depth as the effect is clearly open to the eyes of the public. The destruction of the impairment of acuity and intelligent capability of an individual occurs as a result of long term consumption of the same.
Moreover, there are some other indirect effects on the consumption of marijuana that are directly connected to the same (Nahas, 68). Although most individual can argue that most accidents are caused by recklessness of the road users, it cannot be fully relied upon as the main cause of the same. The probable causes of these accidents may be as a result of poor judgment when estimating the distance of overtaking. The causative agent of poor judgment can be due to prolong consumption of marijuana. However, consuming little amount marijuana can produce positive effects but controlling the rate of consumption can be the hardest challenge. Therefore it is advisable to avoid consumption of marijuana in every way possible.
Additionally, marijuana causes drowsiness which is also known as hypoesthesia. This effect is described by constant and strong proclivity to catnap. The operational aptitude of an individual who is working in an organization that requires too much devotion is affected by loss of concentration. When a patient suffers from drowsiness cannot operate heavy machine to avoid exposure to impending danger (Nahas, 92). For that reason, ingesting of marijuana in this case can be described as being addictive to the consumers and their negative side effects are long term.
The message being sent to the young society can be explained as the most dangerous side effect of marijuana. The message being spread to the kids is that consumption of marijuana is safe and has medical advantage over the negative effects (Riddle, 80). The real facts behind consumption of marijuana should be impacted into the mind of these future generations to make right decision that would be beneficial to them. The existence of rehabilitation centers means the government spends a lot of money which would have been used by the same people being rehabilitated to progressively champion the economy of the nation.
In a concluding remark, the side effect of medical consumption of marijuana can be contended that the negative effects are more less the same as the constructive one. However, why should one view the positive side while the negative flank is grim and can cause chronic disorders to an individual? Therefore, it appears that the effects are self-explanatory and personal evaluation on the same debate is required.
