The first point stuck into the mind after reading this article is that the government of the United States of America is concerned about improving the quality of bulbs and other electric equipments to reduce the power consumption in the country. Moreover, new technology is cost-effective for the consumers. However, shutting down the industry will create unemployment because the quality of bulbs that is required by the government is manufactured in China. Therefore, shutting down the industry in America will increase unemployment in the USA and create the jobs in China. (Whoriskey)
Another major concern is that the bulb was invented in the United States of America, and the tradition or legacy is sold by the government and major business personals by adapting the environment saving engineering standard. However, the important point to discuss is that every stakeholder is keenly interested in improving the environmental issues, and no one is taking care of creating an open market for the Chinese products. Therefore, it is important for the government to grant funding to the local manufacturers to improve their products accordingly to maintain a good market share. (Whoriskey)
This article does not alter the thoughts or ideas, such as expected unemployment or losing the market of the ‘bulbs’ within America. The main reason for shutting down the industry is to reduce the environmental pollution. At the same time, United States of America is among those countries that emit highest amount of carbon dioxide each year. Moreover, it is very important for the home country to promote their own industry to improve their overall economy. However, in this case, an alternative product is China made bulbs, and ultimately China will capture the local ‘Bulb’ market of the United States of America. (Whoriskey)
